A 15lb round travelling at 4-500 m/s is a little more than a slap in the face.
Look up tanks in WW1 and you’ll find the germans using 77mm field artillery to destroy them - they may or may not have had proper AP at the time (wiki says there was an AT round but good luck finding any actual info on it) - soit is entirely possible they were using HE or shrapnel, or maybe those with no fuse so they became a solid shot.
There is infantry in the mode. The objectives should have been built around supporting the infantry (the reason these tanks were made for in the first place), but Gaijin is a one-trick pony when it comes to objectives. It’s always team deathmatch.
Hope Gaijin adds WW1 vehicles to techtree. Incredibly fun. Don’t listen to any whiners going on about how their grind would be extended to boring top-tier vehicles.
I like it this way.
Entante gives you all vehicles (including aircraft), but the german schoolbus, and thanks to overabnudance of german players Im doing this event superfast.
After two nights of playing both sides and completing the task ,Overall still mostly enjoying it.Germany much easier to play. Like the new mobility in terms of not getting stuck. I think the simplified "WarThunder Lite " thing has a certain appeal.
I know that war thunder wants to push us to try their newest game but i find it sad that we cannot keep such unique planes as the fighters and even the zeppelin.
I wish we could keep them and then have a war thunder aces event in rb+ (locked into the cockpit) similar to old Battle over Britain events.
I love the planes and the models but War Thunder Aces just isnt for me and im sad that i wont get to keep these cool planes in my hangar.
They had proper APHE rounds for most gun types.
First basically HE rounds where the nose fuze was replaced by a Heardened Steel AP head and internal fuze, later they had special shells where they put the AP head and internal fuze on.
