I’m 90% sure that’s because all the vehicles for the event are part of the UK files(the ones you keep are part of their host trees). As the lang mod I use(the guides for them are on the wiki, so it should be safe) has yet to update, so I see new names as code, and all the ones in the event, so “UK_(vehicle it is)” for the allies.
I’m leaning toward this more likely being a hack, but it could be an error.
No, we have been told that the fighters can’t be kept becaue “We will get the opportunity to play them in Aces of Thunder”. No actual reason has been given for the Zeppelin though.
But hey, we can atleast keep the bomber. But it seems like some players can keep more than others.
Yeah, the Zeppelin has probably not been considered as a reward because it would’ve been very unconventional, to say the least, but the model is there, the vehicle is functional, and it’d be a waste to just remove it.
Considering how many people have expressed interest in getting one, there’s some hope that we will get it one day.
I think they were added to publicize the other game they mentioned, and, to be honest, they’d be probably useless even at 1.0 (even more so than the tanks) due to how painfully slow and underpowered they are, but I understand your sentiment. Maybe we’ll get them too someday.
Did anybody notice after playing the same map and even the same vehicles over and over , how much this game is down to pure luck? Just seem to be awarded kills in one game while every shot just bounces off in the next. Real lottery, made me question War Thunder overall in terms of my own skill and whether skill is even what gets you a good game or whether its just the algorithm kicking in and out.
I wonder if the balance issues can be attributed to optics and rangefinding.
Namely, you can get precise on the dot range measurements up to 800 meters within ~3-5 seconds in a world war 1 tank with terrible optics and land precise shells on that dot.
This opens up spawn to spawn sniping.
Also commander’s bino gives very good magnification.
From my understanding, early-WW2 british tanks during france struggled with 200-300 yard shots and these WW1 tanks land 800 yard ones with ease.
I just found I was almost “granted” easy kills in some games then denied them in others ,like its out of my hands , I’m firing at the same shell from the same vehicles in the same places in every game .Its the out come of those shots that I can’t decide and feel like pure luck.
