War Thunder "Spearhead" - Changelog

Do you have a problem with the AA or not being able to destroy/camp airfields anymore?

I can understand the latter (only in the bombing sense, campers deserve it), but the former? It’s EC, there’s literally always something to bomb. If you want to take risks with ItO’s then that’s on you when you get deleted. You could also… make the simple choice of staying out of its engagement zone. It’s not a Buk or IRIS-T, you can easily outrun it once it launches/locks you

Surely they were too political.

Why not? Helis and Planes camping ground spawns since forever?

For quick restocks airfields are pretty close to ground maps. Modern anti air systems just have this range. Why shouldn’t those engage targets there?

is anyone having issues in air battles with the sound

F-104 TAF doesn’t. Get a launch warning from the belly side, so flying at 11,000 meters I had no idea it was coming then I just randomly exploded.

Yes I have a problem with the as they chose. They skipped the next step, and made 10.7 - 11.7 aircraft now have to deal with an spaa they should never see.

Great i cant use the BOL pods in custom loadouts on my F/A18 MLU2 if i dont research the normal countermeasures modification

I can’t remember which Battleship Musashi do have AA rocket launcher??

Ive been asking around but no one seems to know, is this a bug or intentional.

When enter the match no flags show so i do not know who is on my team and who i am fighting, the flags appear only once i have spawned. I have the option for “use operator flags in battle” off because i like the normal flags.

RWR blind spots suck, however the AA being strong isn’t the issue here. I feel like we keep circling back to the same solution I gave earlier or to so many people:

If you don’t want to be destroyed by an almost unavoidable SPAA, avoid the airfields entirely

(However I will say aircraft like in your example will sorta suffer with ItO as AA, however the change was sorely needed. To conclude, all I can say is that just as with the many changes to the game (e.g. the introduction of Fox-3 missiles across all nations, the reduction of multipath height, IRCCM missiles, etc.), everyone (more or less…) learned to adapt to them eventually. Yes there is or will be complaining (as there are now), but eventually it blows over as everyone gets used to the new reality)

Where can we find the new version of the CDK? The latest version we have is dated November 27, 2024.
Usually there was an update two or three times a year, but it’s been a year now and we can’t open the updated maps, and many elements are missing and cause the software to crash.

The worst nerf to the CA Lorraine isn’t immediately visible.
The reverse speed is now a measly 3 km/h! It used to be very fast on the reverse (iirc 27 km/h). You would shoot someone and then reverse into cover easy.
I think 5.7 might still be too high

Yeah I found about that 3km/h reverse speed nerf way too late.
With all that mobility butchering I don’t think it deserves anything higher than 5.3.

That improved frontal armor isn’t anything special either, since it can still be easily penetrated by a lot of 5.3 stuff.

I may adapt to it, but you don’t skip steps, they shouldn’t have gone straight to the Ito.

The Ito seems to not even kill anything but bombers, and me specifically strangely enough.
I flew on Tunisia, even hugging the ground wasn’t good, same on Sinai.

I went to top tier in my F-14 on Stalingrad or whatever snow map. And I spawn in and the Itos couldn’t kill a Rafael flying by the run way.

They should’ve made it an 2s6 upgraded.

This change is really only meant to hurt the bombers, and like I said in another post, since I can only be a fighter for the most part now, since I don’t want to fight over my team to get ground kills / base kills, instead of the godly rewards we used to get off airfields, I’ll instead just hunt with a fighter.

oh and even when fighting, I’ve had 3 people already run back to the massive safety net of their runway to avoid dying after losing a the first strike ability

The only people to benefit from this change is gaijin.

But still… an Ito seeing anything 12.0 and below is kinda crazy

I’m sorry, this shouldn’t have been that funny

MOVING. ON.

Expected. It’s an AI-controlled line-of-sight SPAA aided by radar with a perfect lead on you. You’re not multipathing it.

I’ve heard enough, nerf the Eurofighter. /s

You get the same-ish amount of rewards fighting than you do taking 3x the time bombing… so you’re better off

(actually, it’s more meant to address zombers/airfield campers than anything)

Running back to your AA coverage area is a valid tactic… if you know that’s what they’re going to do you might as well turn around and RTB instead of wasting your time/life chasing a target you can’t destroy.

Actually, we all benefit from this. Or do you enjoy being swarmed at your airfield when player count sways heavily to one side?

RIP
This nerf to the Iris-T made her unplayable, I can’t hit anything that goes faster than 300 km/h anymore haha. But of course, you guys need to sell the Su-30.

Dang 6 months, I’m assuming most top tier vehicles last that long until they are overshadowed or nerfed.

I enjoy my spaa doing its job, but it only seems to work around the 10.7 - 11.7 range, which conveniently means all those older premiums are ineffective. Unless you’re fighting of course.

Which a lot of those happen to be strike fighters. Strike fighters that can get BVR’d easily.

Nor do I enjoy being killed by the magic spaa bubble because someone fled when they knew they were toast. It’s as bad as people who purposely crash as soon as they know they can’t win.

Not like you need old SLM in order to counter a brick slinging TV missiles lol.
