Dear Gaijin, attention to Naval Battle is very appreciated, water look beautiful, new visual of shell approaching player is very nice!
But there are some new problems introduced by the new update, I played on dev server not much, but now realise new big problem with visual clarity during grind for Oklahoma.
Here is some feedback, this is only for Naval, and more may be found later.
First is on Visuals:
Now we not see as easily how much damage on each ship section we have on ship, both player and enemy, I have disability with poor eyesight so it makes straining of eyes great when I look just to achieve former performance of not losing ship section.
Enemy ship section very difficult to see too, the x-ray display become very cluttered with different shade of yellow-red, makes it hard to see which section is destroyed, is problem with enemy ship like Sovetsky Soyuz since he only dies when angled with broken compartments otherwise he become incredibly annoying.
Please add back second bar, but with hull segment, possibly also show durability of segment in module overview somehow.
Also Crew count integer and that it now shows that you actually do damage with all shot with animation of bar shrinking is very nice, and improvement of player satisfaction, percentage on which ship dies is very nice also.
But please add second bar colour section to show under which ship cannot repair hulls and can only sink, this is very confusing and not nice as now we don’t see set sinking percentage so this is necessery if additional percentage display not readded, especially to new player…
Adding of visual indicator of what Torpedo Protection covers is great change and improves experience, same with new vehicle overview card!
But one problem with new card also, we now cannot see how strong the structural steel of the hull is, please add option to view hull steel thickness. Maybe even allow x-ray option to view structural elements, with ability to click on element to hide from view to see internal layout.
Second is on new Features:
Update has also added what I am unsure if is a bug, only 2 ammunition slots for main armament, but not for secondary which makes me think it is a bug.
If it is a feature please reconsider, it makes ship like American CL with 6" gun, or especially Bismarck and Scharnhorst, Nürnberg and Admiral Hipper more annoying as you must decide between Anti Air Fuze, SAP and APC with each now and every shell have a purpose.
Would be great loss of diversity and unnecessary friction and suffering for no reason.
If it is not bug I would ask that it please is explained why this was done, especially considering secondary weapon not have this arbitrary limit.
Also why is mouse interaction with radar, that now is new feature for ground and air, not provided for naval radar, when slowly introduction of Guided Missile Craft is being persued? Maybe add lock-on for AI gunners on air target like is on SPAA also?
But thank you for update, I hope more wonderful content comes soon.
Also for event ship:
Improve USA Standard BB reload, Oklahoma will be dead on arrival if not at least reload fixed, even if I like standard layout already very sad for such a cool ship.
You even will make more money on market if she is good from sale tax so it a win for everyone.
Maybe also think about taking care of barbette fire, it make so many ships not fun and stressful to play, its eternal curse from Scharnhorst and now all ship suffer of it, only not those with long elevator even if all ship have inner fire protection.
Bayern, Ersatz Yorck or poor Mackensen suffer too much from it.
Last year for a while we had instant extinguishing bot bug on naval top tier, it showed what changes happened with survivability and it was fine, Scharnhorst did still die, we have more large diameter cannons now, and hull compartment mechanic.
Maybe attempt to evaluate data from that period as evidence?
Imagining how a new player who only got new BB Oklahoma will be infuriated from long reload with new player aim, and dying to barbette ammo explosion is very bad and may scare him off from fun naval mode and he never play again, reducing player count.
Also may I suggest an indicator for ammo load breakpoints on for example mousing over ammo racks, so players can see how much ammo to take to empty ammo rack and magazines so they can avoid fast explosion? Would help close skill gap between veteran and new player.
