War Thunder in 2024 — an infographic

wait… I thought Rockets self-destructed at like 2.5 miles. If so, then how is a 16000 meter shot even possible? that’s like 16 kilometers and that’s much more than 2.5 miles…

(BTW I live in the US so we use miles correct me if I got anything wrong with the metric stuff)

the just stops rendering after a while, its still there though

When will we get 2025 roadmap

This has to do with the referral code bots infesting naval earlier this year. Basically they bought the Satsuki with the free 250 GE they give for any new accounts and have these bots play naval to farm for progress.

After they purged almost all the naval bots later, these Satsuki bots just disappeared, tho that made me wonder why they chose to kept the artificially inflated statistic.

I don’t think new accounts get 250 GE. We used to have 100 GE for completing training, but when bots started appearing in 2020, they removed this option:

The award for all basic training missions has been changed from 100 GE to unique decals for each vehicle type. Golden Eagles for previously completed training will not be taken away and for receiving the unique decal you will need to complete the training again.

And the GE from the “Invite a friend” program were reduced in 2021:

The terms for the “Invite a friend” program have been changed. Now, to achieve a first stage reward (70,000 SL), an invited friend has to achieve rank III in air/ground forces. Stage II reward (300,000 SL, 100 GE) is granted for rank V; Stage III (2,500 GE) for rank VII. Requirements for naval forces’ progress remains unchanged.

I think the IJN Satsuki is so popular, because everyone knows that very strong Japanese battleships will come to the game sooner or later and also Japanese submarines should be good. But grinding the early Japanese destroyers that only use pure HE shells is currently not a pleasant experience. You can buy IJN Satsuki (which has SAP shells) for just 125 GE during -50% sale and completely skip the rank 1-2 grind in Japan.

If not IJN Satsuki, your only premium options at ranks 1-3 are IJN Nenohi or IJN Yubari. IJN Nenohi is a rank 2 destroyer that costs 1000 GE, but only has pure HE shells that don’t work very well in the current META. It has good torpedoes, but most maps at this BR won’t allow you to use them effectively. IJN Yubari is a rank 3 light cruiser that costs 1750 GE and it’s a pretty bad ship overall. Japan doesn’t have good GE premiums at lower ranks. The first good ship is IJN Myoko at rank 4, but it costs 7480 GE. Additionally, the IJN Satsuki is a very good rank 1 premium destroyer (good guns, very good torpedoes), so it’s an interesting and very cheap premium even if someone just wants to try out the ships.

Would be pretty cool to see how much people from each country play Warthunder as well

these are terrible stats. thats around 7 battles per player. if 90% of the players stopped after just 1 battle it’s about 9 battles per player. time wise it averages out to 30 mins a week per player.

This is how it would work if every battle was one player versus bots. But in War Thunder every battle is maximum 16v16 players. So in theory you have 32 players in every battle (it will be less, but we simply don’t know the average number of players in the battle).

So the total number of battles, which is 122,242,831 had a maximum of 3,911,770,592 players. Since there were 17,088,128 unique players, each player played an average of 229 battles per year.

Like I said, this number in reality will be lower, because not every battle is 16v16, but we just don’t have enough data to calculate the real number. It would be cool if the devs actually showed us this stat, because it’s pretty interesting.

I would also love to see the number of players, who played less than let’s say 5 or 10 battles. Just to see how many players uninstalled the game after checking it (they probably didn’t like the gameplay).
