There’s no proof of VT-5 having a 1000hp engine. There’s another suggestion for the VT-5 but the author stated that it has 1000hp 8V150 engine but 8V150 engine only produces 884HP.

Is this the only quality source we have (I’m not coping I swear). Because missing out on ~116hp at 33 tons will be pretty bad.
Also we have 2 models datamined and I cannot find a Bangladesh VT-5 with the armour package, only the VT-5 itself as an export version
Yes. There are claims of other VT-5s having 1000hp engine but they dont have any evidence to back their claim.

Add-on armor one might be a TT tank and this one is most likely going to be a Squadron/Premium tank
Do you think the VT-5 with add on armour could have 1000hp? Because VT-5 export (non-Bangladesh) do say 1000hp, but again no ‘good’ sources
Gaijin usually doesn’t like to add something without proper evidence and currently we only have the evidence of VT-5 having a 884hp engine. So it might not get a 1000hp engine.

I’m curious what ammunition Gaijin will give it. My guess is DTW2-105 copied over from the ZLT11.

Autoloader’s reload speed can be proved from the CCTV’s VT-5 video however I couldn’t find any source to back the turret elevation stats.

That would be nice, though with Gaijin’s ammunition track record, I wouldn’t be surprised if they give it “Type 83 APDS” as its best round.

According to the 2017 VT-5 brochure this tank is indeed equipped with a 1000hp engine. However the actual power output is much lower (650KW/871.67hp). We are seeing lower power output probably due to cooling or other inefficiencies. Since VT-5BD uses a different radiator compared to the 2017 VT-5, VT-5BD’s engine can produce 884hp.
Does anyone know whether gaijin models engine efficiency in the game or not?

I have a feeling it says a lower output because of the engine at altitude where it was planned to be used. It’s probably at 1000hp at sea level

Obviously I am massively oversimplifying this, but the horsepower drop off at altitude for these mountainous areas is exactly why the engines were probably rated for 1000hp, to compensate for drop off.
