That’s fair enough, indigenous production is usually a good sign for future domestic design anyways.
+1. would love to see this ingame!
Norinco is cooking.
There is no such thing as early or late for VT-5, it depends on the money, if the customer needs something, China will give you VT-5XX
Can’t wait to see this in-game
Since the original ZTQ-15 discussion got passed already, i will post this here instead
Type 15 Lightweight Tanks in Training - Ministry of National Defense - chinese ministry of defense video of ZTQ-15
Will there be 2 versions of VT-5 or is the armour package a modification?
Thank you for the info cant wait!
BD one is probably going to be premium/squadron. I’m going to be really happy if the bd one is going to be a squadron tank.
Isn’t the add-on armor VT-5 supposed to have a RCWS instead of a manually controlled hmg?
VT5 should be a 35mm grenade+12.7 HMG, maybe gaijin made a mistake. I will submit an issue when VT5 goes online for testing
It should have a 5.8mm QJT 88 coax machine gun instead of the 7.62mm Type 86 machine gun. Remember to include that in your bug report.
I have done a deep dive into the VT-5 specs and it’s really annoying because there’s no official brochures or anything. That photo is pretty much the only somewhat ‘official’ image we have that states the horsepower of the VT-5, but it almost looks like a museum display and AFAIK Gaijin doesn’t like using those as official specifications.
Most sources seem to confuse the VT-5/ZTQ-15/Type 15 because they are pretty similar, but this just makes it really difficult to identify actual differences in things like engine power.
The most solid source I found that seems to be a step above a blog post with decent information, but still has no sources. Here is the VT5 source that seems to be somewhat good and was actually used in the source list from the ZTQ-15 forum post that was passed for consideration
I really want the VT-5 to have the 1000hp engine of the ZTQ-15/Type 15, but at this stage it seems to be in Gaijin’s hands whether they give it the 884hp or 1000hp, because unless someone can find a quality source document, it could sway either way and I personally would much prefer 1000hp@33tons versus 884hp@33 tons.
This is from Bangladesh army’s Military Hardware Display 2024 event.

There’s no proof of VT-5 having a 1000hp engine. There’s another suggestion for the VT-5 but the author stated that it has 1000hp 8V150 engine but 8V150 engine only produces 884HP.
