churchill is just miserable in general…the insanely long hull you first have to shove around a corner to be able to shoot. the anemic speed. The horrible gun with ap. Definitely one of the worst tank families ive ever played in this game. Maybe i just never got really used to them and their gun but after the first horribly slow 20-30 matches i honestly didn’t even want to try this shitcan anymore. Angle? yeah that definitely will stop enemies from shooting its exposed tracks and move around it while you’re praying that the peashooter of a gun most churchills have for the br they’re at does anything before you get flanked and disabled. The 3.7 m24 is a way better tank (even if you bring it to 4.7) than any churchill even the mk7 from 4.7.
You’re basically relying on teammates around you that take advantage of enemies struggling to finish you off and stick around you while you creep up to the caps. Similar to the maus problem. Reliying on allies that understand they can take advantage of you drawing enemies towards you that will have a hard time penning you if you can angle is hit-or miss. Allies r smart and stick around your flanks to shoot enemies that are on reload? Good. Allies clueless and rush all the heavily armored stuff before you can get anywhere to help. Unlucky. It’s basically out of your control. But the maus can defend itself against anything while the churchill would be as effective if they just removed the turret and you’d drive in there with just the hull. But tanking shots doesnt give rp. thx btw snail.
The black prince is basically the same thing but at higher br. But ive read of a lot of people actually loving it so idk, maybe it just takes a very special skill set or playstyle that i’m unwilling to learn?
Pz.Kpfw. Churchill has its moments (Church III). I always spawn it when I lose my KV-1B. Its not that bad on smaller maps where speed won’t matter. Gun has good pen and high rof, this mostly works.
even with the filler the 76MM has, it will not nuke the entire crew of the VK (or panthers) if you pen the turret, (the short 90MM will)
However, if the long 75 pens the sherman, it will almost always wipe the entire crew, this is at 1000 meters.
that is the 5.3 sherman. it dies almost every, single, time.
I note the range, i also note where you shot from, that is incredibly disingenuous as the im shoing it from the frontal arc,
with 93 mm of pen at 2000 meters you will not hit the VK in a way u can take it out before it’ll take u out
The side of the turret is incredibly bouncy because of volumetric. It’s only reliable within about 200m. The UFP is even more unreliable. The most consistent weakness is the apex of the right side of the mantlet where it is flat, but even then you have shot traps.
In effect, a skilled player will not treat the VK any differently than a Panther D/A
why are you engaging at 2000m anyways everyone knows germans have the best optics for ranged combat m4a1 76 m4a2 m4a3 are best used for CQC because of there good mobility and good turret traverse
