Yes, I’ve been getting this in the last few days (maybe week?)

From the original post title though, I hadn’t updated any drivers. It just started happening. There’s been a few Warthunder updates around the same time so not sure if it was something in there. I don’t think I’ve had any relevant Windows updates in the same time.

I’ve tried updating geforce drivers but it’s still happening.

I either get the “video driver hung…” message, or worse the OS just bugchecks and does a full restart. I think they’re related as they both started around the same time.

Edit: Once I get in the game I haven’t had any issues, it’s just after logging in and the loading to hangar.

Are you also on Windows 11 with HDR enabled?

Same here, playing for hours with no problems only when login into the game.

I am also playing other games with no issues so I don’t think is due to my PC

I found this Reddit post the other day and disabled Auto HDR for War Thunder only. Haven’t seen a crash since despite PC restarting and updating, but we’ll see.

There’s a bug report going on in here if you want to add to it.

Happens all the time to me; usually doesn’t cause too many problems.

I have this problem since the last big update, not even Nvidia here, AMD integrated with no HDR

Yesterday i started to get the same problem and i cant even play 2 matches before i get hit with that bug, its annoying and its affecting the gameplay also, this has never happened to me before so i thought other games was affected aswell but when i decided to play for example titanfall 2 with high graphics it didnt affect none at all and i reseted multiple times to no vail, so i hope war thunder fixes this bug.

Started happening to me yesterday, only thing that changed was a game update for the new battle pass.

War Thunder started hanging at startup of a game after the April 30 2025 update. Win11 PC, no other HW or SW changes. Sigh.

I uninstalled the graphics card driver using DDU and installed the latest graphics card driver, but still cannot solve the problem.

"This happens to me when I Alt+Tab between War Thunder, Spotify, . I have an RTX A4000 graphics card with the latest Studio drivers. And its no black screen no window flashing just game freezes for 10 seconds and says “the video driver hung and was restarted(texture quality was reduced)”

The newest RTX Drivers crashed my system while playing warthunder very frequently. I reverted back to
576.28

Its rtx on dx 12, dx 11 is no issues. I can’t do anything, even locked on 60 fps the game is crashing.

RX 7800 XT. Used DDU to reinstall 24.12.1, still having that issue.

DDU does NOT fix the issue, DX11 does NOT fix the issue, Lowering settings does NOT fix the issue, the only fix to these driver hangups is not playing Warthunder at all LMAO

Reinstalled newer drivers, issue still persists and might’ve gotten worse. Glad we’re getting 700+ euro worth of pre-orders this update and still can’t fix vsync 3-4 years later.

I am on 576.28 with DX11 selected in WT Launcher and it works flawless
