They are flying nice straight lines :)
Without radar you are left with estimating lead distance and angle - there is no quick way to get good at that - it requires practice, practice and then more practice.
And when you have enough practice do some more practice!
And by “practice” mean using them in actual games too - not just the test drive

Likely a bunch of people looking to see if someone has answered because they have the same problem!!

Ok talk more I gotta know how to use the BTR-ZD as an Anti Air instead of an Anti Tank.

I have receive my M53/59 Next I am looking foward to the Zsu-57-2 I know it more of an Anti Tank vehicle but how do i actually use it properly?
the zsu57-2 is not just more of an anti-tank, it is just an anti-tank, its very hard to use as an anti-air, but very fun to use as a light tank, just flank constantly and get as many side shots on enemy tanks as you can, make sure to use the APHE not the solid shot though, that way youll probably one (or sometimes two) shot anything you pen

The ZSU-57-2 is more like an anti-tank or support vehicle, obviously you can rush with it and go directly to offensive but it’s up to you.
Despite two 57 mm cannons, their damage are poor against planes if you’re not loading high explosive shells. I don’t recommend you splitting the ammo count in armor piercing and high explosive shells for anti-air purposes, I’m not expecting you facing a aircraft easy to shoot down, aswell the aircraft itself isn’t expecting a ZSU-57-2 to reply.
In ground, it’s a good vehicle to fight in close combat quarters, employing a crew with a gunner at high level Targeting may be a game changer, ZSU-57-2 has fast horizontal turret drive, it may help you in decisive situations. The armor piercing high explosive shell BR-281U is more recommended due to the obvious: explosive filler and being multiplied in two cannons, one burst of two shots should be enough to destroy one target.

Its more of a light tank/TD than anti air, you can hit guys that are low energy but you don’t have the volume of fire to hit someone going fast. The one in the chinese tree? that has proxy rounds is a really good anti air tho.

Ok Now I have got my ZSU-57-2 and the next one is ZSU-43-4M2 do I skip it? and go for the one with Radar or do i use it? Is it good?
the zsu23-4 without a radar is a better spaa than the zsu57-2
One is a light tank other is a SPAA don’t mix it up

ZSU-23-4M2 is a fairly easy anti-air vehicle, it has the double ammunition count than the regular Shilka with radar which makes it easier to take down aircraft since you have spare ammo to adjust shots, the rate of fire and the damage is enough to take down any aircraft within seconds.
On ground it’s another history, it does have about 50 mm of penetration at point blank however the best you’re going to do at battle rating 7.3 is annoying people rather than dealing internal damage, sure taking out tracks and cannons is helpful, if you find a medium tank side-on or a light tank, likely a guaranteed destroyed target.
Very fun vehicle in my opinion, but it loses a lot in protection regard and mobility, if I’m not wrong one of the slowest anti-air vehicles in-game, you’re barely going faster than 30 Km/H.

Just got my ZSU-23-4M2 Very interestring and look very annoying and the next SPAA I look foward to the ZSU-37-2 which it look like it also can be an Anti Tank just less pentraction and it has an Radar and I wonder what is the best distance to shoot aircraft?
Due to the higher velocity you can engage targets at around 3.5 km up to 4.0 km, Yenisei excels in medium range anti-air and can work as anti-tank vehicle.
The vehicle has a funny (on the bad way) “feature” which you go faster backwards rather than forward so isn’t strange to see someone playing the ZSU-37-2 Yenisei backwards.

And do you know what the Power System in the ZSU-23-4M2? It look like a APU engine from an aircraft to power the tanks when the main engine is off. If My guess is correct how do I use it when i turn off the main engines?
These don’t exactly work like that, my best realistic guess is to power the gun control systems, but you’ll still need battery power to control the weaponry regardless.
If the game had infrantry the zsu-23-4m2 would go up in BR by a lot. Shame enlisted died and you wont be able to shred people with that there if they ever added cold war stuff.
I did get to expierence shooting and being shot by the twin 23mm mounts on enplacements and vehicles in SQUAD and its about the absolute most terrifying thing to deal with, id rather be shot at with 120mm. Feel like a god behind that thing, guess thats why its nicknamed ZUES.
I played it recently and felt like past 2.5km they have too much time to react, def better than the 23mm in engagement range. Also ya its a half decent light tank thanks to the guns and mobility. Honestly think its the best all around spaa untill 10.0+ USSR has.
@Константинович7 @Sternlos @Josephs_Piano I got the ZSU-23-4v now i am looking foward to the one with 4 Missle equiped the 4m4 it very good right? It missle literally have IRCCM at such a low BR.
Yes, it’s a very potent anti-air vehicle with the 9M39 Iglas you should consider it. You can use it confidently until you get better options like the 9K35 Strela or 2S6 Tunguska.
I thought it was the worst spaa I ever played, iglas suck really bad and the platform is not good for 9.3 missiles aside.
You dont need mods for it so give it a whirl I guess, wasnt a fan of the strela or OSA either but they are at least “good” I just dont didnt find either to be that fun, osa has awful turret traverse for close threats and its a giant immobile bus, strela has no range and both have no way of defending themselves. 2s6 is amazing, and pantsir is frustrating to play with radar lock bug.
I just don’t find SPAA besides gepards or 2s6 really that engaging to play (or things in similar veins like LAV-AD etc.), youll get into matches you can’t really do anything, and I just hate that. IRIST is blatantly overpowered so its fun in that regard, pantsir would probably be the most fun/interesting spaa in the game if you werent fighting the radar every match.
I’m not a fan of pure SPAA gameplay on these small maps especially ones with glaring weaknesses like the strela, im not saying these are neccesarily bad, just that I personally feel like unless the vehicle can double as a light tank or has the upperhand against decent CAS players at the BR id rather spawn CAP or just leave the match.
For the 9.3 zsu the missiles are not hitting anyone going over 700kmph and turns even slightly, your guns aren’t hitting anyone past 1.5-2km at max. You cant even pen the sides of most mbts with the 23mm at anything but point blank, and the mobility is atrocious. So you get dunked on in ground and danced on by good CAS players.
At .3 BR higher you have the gepard which has much better mobility and radar, guns that let it be a pretty respectable light tank and engage air targets at farther distances, and a much better missile.

Alr i got the ZSU-24-4v it very cool for the missles not sure if i can get kills with it though at 12.0 because I normally will get a gun kill for those jet who tired to Headon my 4x 23mm gun. and for now I look foward to the Osa-KM look very cool as well however is it radar good? I tired to lock on something about 2km at the test drive it won’t lock on it but far range they got no issues… and also I am looking foward to the SU-27SM for CAS because i felt like the Su-17m4 is outdated. I want something faster and more maunoverable and hopefully it TV guided bomb will be very nice. and it will be replaced by the Su-30sm in the future when i got it or the SU-34…
