Oh no. Now I have to find a place for him in my line-up, because it will look too good to not include.
@Stona_WT
what about Tiger II 10.5cm ?
will it also get some love when tiger II gets a rework?
Holy crap, that’s some serious research
thank you i am big fan of tiger II tanks i already had these info for a suggestion but no need anymore because it’s getting added with new update !
hope other tigers and maus get some love to at one point
Can you actually look inside the tank using Ansel and highlight armor plates mentioned by Zenturion, that are not visible from normal outside view? I use AMD gpu.
Also yeah, I would prefer multiple vehicles armour profile overhauls rather than those one off things, which add unnecessary stuff like detailed radio model or whatever. To me its like that society of hidden paint. It is nice to look at, but it doesn’t improve gameplay in any way. This thing in general looks like a lot of work on a few vehicles while hundreds more are waiting.
Another thing is adding functionality to tanks. For example, I recently tried Pvkv 2, after it had reload time reduced and that thing doesn’t have ready rack modeled ingame even though it clearly has 16 shells ready in the turret and rest would have to be transported from hull via hatches or something. I would rather see that, as it has some impact on gameplay, instead of some zimmerit stuff, which is purely cosmetic.
Ok thats a really nice model rework, damn.
so premium tiger P when? Maybe for france (since the kungstiger is literally a french service tiger given to sweden).
so uh, why of all tanks do these and the H variant get an engine governor in the game?
I’d just like to know the reasoning behind it, is all.
Lol.
Great way to make updates with literally no content.
About time.
But the tracks on the turret side look awful.
Pretty sure the KV-1’s and T34 have them also as they have the same engine but with their governed speeds on.
the most expendable engines of WW2? I seriously doubt it lmao
I mean you could check if you wanted to
Both the Maybach HL 230 P30 and P45 were originally governed to 3000 RPM with a 2 stage centrifugal speed governor. A lot of people say 3000 RPM is the ungoverned speed which is factually incorrect. However, starting in November 1943, all Maybach HL 230 P30 and Maybach HL 230 P45 engines for the Panther and Tiger Ausf. E started to receive a new 2 stage centrifugal speed governor that capped it to 2500 RPM instead of 3000. Mind you, this was before the Tiger II entered production, so the Maybach HL 230 P30 engines came equipped with it already when the Tiger II entered production.
How the speed governor worked is that there are jointed flywheels that would spin with the engine RPM and as that engine RPM increased, they would gradually rotate further outwards due to centrifugal force and as they do would pull or push (I’m not sure if it’s pull or push on the HL 230) a rod that closes off the throttle which reduced the amount of fuel and air entering the engine and prevent anymore entering the engine and @ 2500 RPM would close off the intermediate chokes thus capping it at that speed.
There’s a lot of misinformation about the speed governor on Reddit and YouTube or why it was changed to 600 horsepower but basically, the engine being capped 600HP @ 2500 RPM is the on paper actual speed and 700 horsepower @ 3000 RPM is the legacy speed with the old 2 stage speed governor that was replaced.
These are the quality of life changes I love. Good to step away from the obsession with new vehicles.
One can hope they’ll do this with maps and modes as well.
That’s very good info. thank you, that clears up a lot.
I’m hoping they spend some time going back and looking at maps they have removed and seeing if changes can be made to make them viable for re-adding. In short, Gaijin, I want White Rock Fortress.
Everything can be transformed into viable if you try enough.
They should finally start making changes to maps to suit both lower and higher tier gameplay.
