Wait, so does the JASDF actually know their F-2A can now carry B61 nukes? Or did you Gaijin just roll up with your own mechanics, mod the thing for them, and while you were at it, conveniently “borrow” a US nuke on the side?
It’s better defensively than most others thanks to HMD and R-77/R-73, but the FM is by far the worst, especially acceleration wise, which is what really matters for a nuke plane.
Also Idk if the nuke version gets the UV-5 mod, so it might have less (or worse) CMs than the rest.
I have had better results with the ASM-1, the radar-guided AShMs seem to target specific components more reliably while thr IR ASM-2 often just hit CoM for me
I don’t see why it was necessary to make every nation use an F16…
If they can give the F2 a nuke simply for gameplay purposes, why can’t they give nukes to other aircraft to act as the nuke carrier. Like strapping a B61 to the Typhoon or Rafale, or F15E and SU-34 instead of 500 F16s.
The only thing people care about when dropping a nuke is going fast and not being killed. And the F16 is just not a great choice for that. Sure, it has good air to air performance, but you are trying to get to the battlefield, not hit a 5 killstreak.
And sure, the Tornado and F111 shows their age at the highest echelons of top tier, but it’s more so a problem with being able to J out the second you hear that siren to smack the nuke carrier with a Fox 3 from across the map than the older aircraft not being a good fit.
So, I think this shouldn’t have been done. Placeholder or not, it’s a mistake.
It is fun, that apparentally those new nuke planes are only available if you got 13.0 jet or helo in your own lineup?
Since I play 12.3 or 12.7 lineups, and having 13.0 matches, there is no new nuke planes to be seen
