I don’t think it should count as capped shell. It only has a soft magnesium-aluminum cap, which is basically there for better incendiary effect and maybe weight distribution.
Capped shells use steel since such a soft cap would simply melt away on impact.
Since we’re discussing US light tank issues, allow me to bring attention to the fact that XM8 (AGS) and CCVL are still missing blow-out panel functionality, a critical survivability feature these vehicles were essentially built around.
Both are extremely cramped vehicles with little armor, only 3 crew, and ammunition everywhere. Without blow-out panels these are in effect driving powder kegs.
Observe the survivability chart below.
To add insult to injury, destructible autoloader was recently added to XM8 and CCVL so if you miraculously survive a hit then there’s that to worry about too.
I cannot stress this enough, if their historical blow-out panels were added then chance of survival would increase from “zero” to “maybe”. I believe it’s only fair to not only make these vehicles historically accurate, but also give them a fighting chance.
PS: This issue was first reported by Spookston 2-3 years ago, and still hasn’t been adressed. I believe this has to do with their nature as event vehicles. Since the event was a long time ago, Gaijin doesn’t see them as relevant anymore (thus not deserving of bug fixes)
coping. All the soviet teirs… maybe play better? isnt that what you would say to all the US mains when complaining about performance? Man the soviet main players are just dumb when it comes to their tanks and how to play them, maybe learn to play better.
I think this is how it went when the US mains complained about their stuff… stop me if im wrong
@Stona_WT can we expect any of the accepted bug reports to go through for the CV9030 MK.IV this week? Right now its nearly unplayable and literally any buff would make it more bearable. Especially since gaijin couldn’t get even half of it correct.
@MokaMoki the T-80U has been around just as long if not longer than the HSTVL and one is fixed, the other isn’t. That’s called bias. If gaijin fixes both then it’s fair
USA tanks don’t lack performance. I have played them a bunch. Check my stat card. Russia I have played a bunch, Germany too. I’ve played a lot across all the nations.
But no nation, have I ever had to fight tooth and nail to live / get a kill like Russia.
Provide outstanding evidence to prove this reload theory, because to this day it’s never been proven nato tanks other than Japanese ones, can load less than 5 secs. And I am not talking about “lap loads”
Do you have any source for that claim? And all in game tanks don’t drive perfectly at the speed of irl.
Lastly. It’s an upgrade package. If you want to go that route, gen 1 abrams didn’t have thermals either genius.
Not really. Hstvl can bounce and eat rounds a lot easier than the 2s38, it’s also faster, and has… what -17 gun depression? There are differences that make one far better in all environments, and one better in flat environments. But mostly the hstvl wins.
Still doesn’t change the fact that HSTVL was always one of the best tanks for its BR.
Also funny seeing people praise Gaijin for buffing the strongest auto-light in the game. ;)
Love my HSTVL.
Which makes thermals in WT historically accurate. It has to be all got none, or it gets added to WT as it should.
Besides, T-80B losing thermals would mean it going down to 10.3, maybe further.
I was wondering when the 2S38 shill posts would appear in my scrolling.
Yes, 2S38 for its BR is as-strong as HSTVL is for its own BR. Welcome to the BR system.
