Universal crew training

I would love to see a Crew System Rework and ill try to explain why I think it would improve the game and how to implement it.

Observation: Players who have extra crew slots / well managed crew slots typically perform much better in games and continue to fight till the end of the match (I have 10 crew slots on every nation). Sometimes you get very 1 sided matches where everyone in your team has left after 1 or 2 deaths and there can be many causes for this.
One problem I noticed is many new players do not “tetris” their crews correctly and end up having to spend a lot of SL on teaching vehicles again to crew. Example: They want to try out some ground SIM but the vehicles have different BRs and their Arcade loadout doesn’t work effectively anymore.
Ergo many new players (my friend had this problem) end up crewing the same vehicle to multiple crew slots and end up going bankrupt. This can lead to feeling like they are not making enough SL and end up leaving the game early even though they were enjoying the game.

I think it would really improve the quality of games and the quality of life if we make the following change:

-Either purchasing crew basic training + expert qualification needs to be “universal” covering all the crew slots you have. Or at least the expert qualification experience bar progression towards ace needs to be “universal”. Preferably both of these changes would be ideal as they contribute to QOL and replay-ability.
I believe the first solution is essential because it would be less punishing towards new players who maybe didn’t assign all their vehicles to the right slots and are queuing into matches with subpar loadouts due to lack of SL. It also generally gives more freedom to players to at least enter the match with a meaningful loadout.
-This change would also drastically improve the quality of life for players after battle rating changes. Sometimes BR changes can mess up your crew slots and your BR planning (for loadouts) and force you to have to repurchase expert qualification and start over your progression towards ACE because your line up was altered. I think it would make the player base much more open minded about BR changes when they know they can just crew any vehicle they have purchased training for, to any one of their crew slots, its a feeling of safety even when BR changes happen. This can change feelings of dread/panic to excitement when BR changes are underway.

It would be cool to have such a rework and one that maybe shows your “progress to ace” on the tech-tree itself after you have purchased expert qualification.

Incase it wasn’t clear: The basic idea is you pay for crew training once (basic / expert) and then can drag and drop the vehicle to any slot. Progression to ACE will be tied to the vehicle and not the crew. This way you don’t have to play Tetris, and can drag and drop vehicles to form any line up you like after buying the training once (Basic / Expert).

This could work but only because of gaijin constantly changing BRs and ruining lineups. If you shiffle crews around at lower BRs it costs little to do. If by the time you get to higher BRs you still have not learned how to properly use the system that is on you.

100% agree, its one of those systems thats just unnecessarily complex and makes the game less aproachable for new players and serves no purpose besides making more mon…oh.

Agree wholeheartedly. Crew training should be universal.

One avenue to get this idea implemented could be to tie it to having active premium account, as a “nice to have but not essential” perk coming with it in the same vein as the “SL Insurance” is.

This would help to avoid spending SL after BR shuffle and even mechanics changes like with recent Fighter/Attacker SP cost in Combined Battles

Gaijin just shuffled a ton of top tier vehicles around in BR and they will continue to do so. I literally have specific crew slots dedicated to fighter planes, strike aircraft, bombers/helicopters, 3x MBTs, 3x light tanks or TDs and 1 SPAA, and yet I still suffer from this issue.

Even with my schizo economic strategy of ONLY buying TT vehicles during sales, it’s impossible to save up enough SL to fully crew and expert every researched vehicle unless I play one of my trees that I’ve already fully researched, thus wasting RP.

It is impossible to fully account for all variables here, and thus your statment of

I have the same exact issue, I currently own around 1600 vehicles with many techtrees complete. I follow the same principle as you of buying stuff during the SL sales and I still dont have enough to expert crew everything right away without having to play a few extra games after.

I have been making this suggestion since like 2016 on old forums.

Tie Basic/Expert/Ace to the vehicle, not the crew slot – therefore you can move the vehicle into any slot (1-10) and it will have the correct training.
