United Korea Ground Forces Tech Tree

That’s cold war. Also no. From a historical standpoint, the M24 and other vehicles are some of the first. It makes no sense to just remove it cause “oh it’s copy and paste, that’s uh… bad”. There are a lot of historical connotations. If you did that.

What? Rank 3 to 4 are still mostly predominated by ww2 vehicles. It seems very needless. Feel free to disagree.

Once again those vehicles were given to Korea during the Korean War. It’s a similar premise to Japan, and Germany during the early Cold War era. They paid and were given.

Nice, Gaijin should definitely not pass on this big opportunity especially with the big support it has.

Good work @ChieftainWarrior

i want funny low tier vehicles K

Would you mind mentioning in your post #1 that all of the T-80s (35 units) in the SK are only T-80Us, and that the claim that the SK have 2 units of T-80UKs is misinformation? He seems very confused by the comments with different claims, which is worth mentioning considering that this rumor is so widespread that it’s even listed as fact on Wikipedia.

And on a more obvious evidence, there are documents of the minutes in the South Korean National Assembly.

Sure, thanks for the details!

Will edit that when I edit the post for a few other things.

The Korean TOG II (KAAV-II) with lighter armor and a 40mm CTA, probable useless in-game but would be funny to see, here are some images of the concept and prototype of the KAAV-II.

Ammunition for the T-80U and BMP-3

I think it would be quite good actually. Thin armour, but the plan was to get it up to 100km/h on land (and 20km/h in water). The 40mm CTA is very good as well (APFSDS rounds w/ ~140-145mm pen @ 1500m). I’m gonna wait for more info before I add it (and/or make a suggestion post for it), but I think it would be a very solid addition.

I think T-80U and BMP-3 can be placed in the regular tree, I would put BMP-3 into the folder with K200 equipped with Metis, while T-80U can change places with K1A1(P) for example.
K1A1(P) would be a more interesting squadron vehicle imo compared to T-80U, which we already have as a squadron vehicle in game for the Swedish TT.

good idea,
Actually, it is much more balanced and rich than the other Korean Peninsula unification tree I have seen

One variant would be this.

The barrel was shortened, likely cause this was a wreck and NK’s were taking everything of usefulness. However, I like to believe that it was done cause of the lack of vehicles able to fight infantry. Its effectiveness probably wouldn’t be great in terms of fighting other tanks but I could imagine the north getting crafty.

We really don’t know and what we do know is mostly speculation.

Australian War Memorial.
Both T-34s in this picture are different look at the turrets.

To quote user GeraldOwen
“These are great pictures–I haven’t seen them before.
The nearer vehicle is a Factory 183 tank from 1945 or later. It has the flattened area on the lower center of the turret sides, and the spiderweb pattern cast wheels. The basic Dragon kit depicts this version. The vehicle behind it is a 1945 Factory 112 vehicle with the late turret with the wide, low-riding turret bustle and the two mushroom ventilators on the roof (as seen in Academy’s kit). It also has the solid, stamped wheels. Note the larger hinges on the tail plate, and the overlap of upper plate over the lower. On the 183 tanks, the top plate fits inside the edge of the lower tail plate, and the hinges are smaller.”

This was knocked out by a 3.5 cm rocket, however, considering we have inspired vehicles, ex, The Clickbait, why not give a United Korean TT some strange looking tanks, more based on pictures, whenever it was serviced in this configuration, really doesn’t matter. Falls under Semi-Historical. Semi-> cause it was knocked out, historical cause it is based on the picture.

I believe this is T-34-85 No.208, one of three North Korean T-34s destroyed by anti-tank guns outside of Janganmun Gate on July 4th, 1950. It is said that the tracks, roadwheels, and engine/engine deck were stripped by the locals for civilian use, so it seems possible that the barrel was cut in a similar fashion.

But there are a few other photos of the vehicle before it was looted

Haven’t seen it come up in discussion but I think this would be a pretty neat event/squadron rocket pseudo-AA. It’s called the Bigung/Poniard MLRS and fires domestically (with some US help) modified IR fire-and-forget Hydras called LOGIR with an 8km range. It’s completely self-contained and acquires targets through the system at the top of its mast.

I call it a pseudo-AA because its main purpose is actually coastal defense against small boats but it should still be capable of acquiring airborne targets. Main issue is that it would need to hit a target directly. No proximity fuze to help out. This would essentially limit its targets to helicopters and larger planes. Also, while a LOGIR conversion is theoretically possible on any standard Hydra, only M151 HE Hydras have actually been converted in reality, as far as I know. This makes the system incapable of taking out ground targets with any armor, however, the 1kg Comp B warhead of the M151 should still be easily capable of taking out any air target.

All in all, it wouldn’t be anything game-breaking, even if Gaijin didn’t gimp its mast elevation, however, it would still be a interesting and unique vehicle that could catch pesky helicopters off guard once in a while. It would also have the highest number of ready-to-fire guided munitions of any AA in the game, allowing it to spam 4 or 5 rockets at a single target without issue. Pair this high ammo count with an ammo crate and you’ve got an “AA” platform that can easily last you an entire game. Most importantly, it’d be really funny.

Do they simply not exist for Hydra?
