T-64BV zr. 2017, Frontline Defender

  • New photo of the T-64BV zr. 2017, a workhorse of the Ukrainian Army. No matter what way Ukraine is added, this should be added. It’s a highly unique T-64 with new ERA that’s superior to K-5 not to mention more of it (look at the LFP), 3rd-generation thermal imager for the Gunner, and Kombat GL-ATGM.

Kontakt-1

Doesn’t Nizh also use the regukar Kontakt-1 blocks for mounting? Do we know for sure which ones it’s using?

K-1 and Nizh-1M can indeed use the same container so it’s almost impossible to tell without sources specifically stating.

They use same blocks, however original source noted this to be K-1, if you need I can link it, however I am very sure it will be against rules if I do this openly in this thread.

So shortly saying it’s Kontakt-1.

Continuing my previous post…more images of a T-64BV zr. 2017:

  • The vehicles have widespread Nizh-1M ERA coverage around the mantlet and on the LFP, which are two notorious weak spots on the T-series as a whole as well as additional side ERA and Slat armor around the engine compartment and turret rear.
  • I’m trying to verify it but there’s a very high possibility that Slovakian P99 TAPNA and/or Czech PpSv97 VETRA APFSDS-T rounds, both of which are in there respective countries service, which can be fully utilized by T-64’s, T-72’s, T-80’s, and T-84’s in service with Ukraine. This can be used to significantly boost the BR’s of said Ukrainian vehicles in the tree. It’s already been discussed as a placeholder but if they’ve been sent and are in Ukrainian use, it solidifies the BR increases.

Idk abt the sep, it would ruin the top line tank for America, its like why play America when you can get, t90, leopard 2a6 and sep all at ounce. Keep the sep in America just so America is unique in some way. Im ok with SA going to Ukraine since its not in game yet and it would be a worse AIM. They could just add it as a event Abrams since its American made tank.

No SEP’s are going to Ukraine. The M1A1 SA Ukraine uses is about the same as the AIM (in terms of gameplay, IRL it’s stripped of sensitive technologies). The only thing the AIM and by extension the SA-UKR is missing is the TMS (thermal sight) for the Commander. The SA the US Army uses has 3rd-generation DU armor (HAP-3) while the Ukrainian version uses FMS Armor (export armor). The Ukrainian version, the M1A1 SA-UKR, is equipped with K-1 blocks around the vehicle (on top of ARAT-I) which is unique in its own right so no worries on copy and paste/taking away of uniqueness.

The Ukrainian Army’s top foreign vehicles are:

  • Leopard 2A6
  • Leopard 2A4 (K-1 Addon-armor)
  • M1A1 SA-UKR (K-1/ARAT-I Addon-armor)
  • Challenger 2 (Cage Armor)

Will not include trophy vehicles.

Ukraine was given M1A1s with SEP kits, The M1A1s Ukraine was given where under the M1A1 UA term. Meaning its there own version. From what we have seen its a M1a1 FEP with no commander optic, no APS, and SEP v1 ERA package.

Correction to my former statement this would be a better AIM since DU rounds where given to Ukraine.

The AIM we have in-game is the Aussie variant which is a weird hybrid. The actual AIM would utilize DU armor as well.

The M1A1 AIM in-game and the Ukrainian M1A1 SA-UKR both have TMS (Thermal Sight Modules) for there Commander’s stations. It’s attached to the .50cal but it’s not Hunter-killer capable. Unfortunately Gaijin hasn’t implemented it even though it’s definitely modeled. It would provide a 2nd-generation Thermal Imager that would act like a thermal binocular essentially. The kit you’re referring to is TUSK which is found on the US Army’s M1A1 AIM, M1A1 SA, M1A2 SEP’s, Aussie M1A1 AIM’s, etc. It’s not the full kit, it’s just the ARAT-I ERA and Loader’s Shield for the most part. Also has a SCWS.

Only reason i refer to the AIM is because its an exported version, im just comparing products. Good to know on the TSM, (i was looking for the optic itself)
image.
Im aware of the TUSK kit, for the most part it looks to be a worse M1A2 SEP. Do you know when the TSM was put in service? It would be cool to implement into game. Just another buff for the abrams.

The TSM started to pop up in the late 2000’s on the M1A1 AIM’s used by the US Army and they became standard on the USMC’s M1A1 FEP and the US Army’s M1A1 SA. Especially with the Stabilized Commander’s Weapon Station which is found on both the Army’s SA (including the Ukrainian version) and USMC’s FEP.

The AIM is used by the US Army and USMC primarily before being upgraded to the SA/FEP standard. The AIM the ADF uses is labeled as an “AIM” but uses bits and pieces from other projects like the SA and FEP.

Edit: I guess the TSM on the M1A1 AIM is accessible through the Gunner’s sight to the Machine Gun. Haven’t tested it myself yet, just found out.

Ukrainian engineer: so how much ERA do you want on your leopard?.

Ukrainian tankers: yes!

is it me or does that look thicker than K1?, also I wonder if it’s a normal Leo 1 turret or the blocky version under all that ERA, just going off the ERA placement I’m thinking it’s probably the blocky style

here’s a similar version by the looks of it
