thats literally what makes them ESA, they might be IRL but they sure as hell aint modelled to the effects and thats fairly evident by the update cycles all of them have which they shouldnt realistically have (another main point with AESA systems)

No, not all of them have a confirmed ability to update the target within their radar fov outside the “main beam”. SLM, CLAWS and SPYDER do (tho Claws horizontal beamsteering angle is so small, it could basically not exist)
They do need to have a update time, as they spin around.

SPYDER doesnt spin at all, its 4 quadrants that update in a 360 degree arc, thats what I was saying originally, they cannot even model AESA properly on systems that physically dont have an update cycle (or a visible one)

If you mean target update, then yes, but it very much does need scan time.

the SPYDERs scan time is meant to be per quadrant not per 360 degree arc, its why the system has 4 sectors, each sector is meant to independently update but because they cannot code it properly they gave it a general 1sec/2second update cycle as if its a mechanical system which isnt even remotely accurate. maybe the rest as they do spin so those need an actual update time but SPYDER doesnt

Manufacturer video refering to the family SPYDER belong to, you can see the scan beam symbolized by the blue beams

Here you can see how it still scans at a slower speed, while it is updating targets. So the game implementation is relatively correct when it comes to scan. Target updates are not here yet.

both that video and there documentation state otherwise. go to 4:31 ion your own video. they literally talk about continued tracking in a whole pointing envelope, that simply doesnt exist on the SPYDER at all, there own documents even state

If you think an update 1 per second is “fast” for a system designed to intercept fast munitions and multiple targets you cannot actually be serious

thats the type of threats its designed to engage/detect, 1 cycle update per second isnt fast for those types of threats

You did not understand what i was saying.
I am not denying the fast updates, it is literally in the fragment i posted, SCAN FOR NEW TARGETS is still slow.

yes because they model the array as a mechanical system with an update 1 per second which is simply not how it should function.

No ground search radar has TWS ESA, they are yet to implement it. That makes the updates in game rely on scan time, and that one is roughly correct.

That radar in C-RAM mode operated differently than in Air surveillance mode.
It C-RAM mode it operates on much shorter range, but does scan the whole hemisphere instantly.

And for example Giraffe AMB has 1s update in C-RAM mode, yet it is still used.

so you confirm it updates instantly, you also seem to forget nothing in game is going to that far out where surveillance mode is the default, meaning the C-RAM mode is and should be the default or changeable considering it has the ability to be adjusted software side as per the specs of the radar

Type 03 Chū-SAM is nice but…the real question is…Will it work as intended or will it be treated the same way the Tan-Sam is currently treated with all loads of bugs and missing features and the way the Type 93 SAM was horribly treated in the past???

Please fix the Tan-Sam Kai…still horrendous to play. I want to say im grateful for the Type 03?? but, the way they implement Japanese vehicles always a let down…

lmao you know full well they wont because ppl like you simply accept the way they do stuff and they refuse to fix things to how they should be, go use the SPYDER and tell me its “right” and tell me how great of a system it is when its modelled so incorrectly it performs worse than a standard mechanical system or saclos system

and its why it needs to be called out more often, SPYDER has bug reports since launch day and not a single has been fixed but telling others to bug report issues when they treat there own bug reports like it doesnt exist because reasons, its why ppl lose there minds over simple problems

IM serious because i actually know how useless all spaa is by killing them all day every day in SRE. Your only duty is to shoot down ordinance, and CS5 is by far the best one at that in the whole game
