Will there be any plans to bring similar types of standalone game modes as a weekend only thing instead of locking them to world war mode?
I.E. every weekend a mode like SEAD or similar modes is added to the rotation?
I don’t really have a coordinated squadron or clan or anything which is a requirement for WWM afaik (I’m in squadrons sometimes but I’m only in it for squadron XP) and I don’t want to commit to World War Mode and all that it entails just to try other game modes. Ideally it could have pre-made lineups similar to the discontinued historical battles mode or this event. (I.E. “Weekend Event: Realistic Aerial Warfare SEAD: Vietnam Phantom vs Fishbeds”)

Needless to say the ZSU-23s went berserk .While me and my teamates were moving from spot to spot trying to find something , only for ZSU-23s to kill it. At some point we were just flying to the “dot” … we saw the ray of doom. It’s that thing, winning doesn’t say much when you see people having 1 kill by the end of the game because Shilka stole it…
I did 4 and at least 2 stolen. But once i stole one from the Shilka myself because i got pissed off.
I also want to add to this the only complaint that i have is that the helicopter damage model sucks, if the fuselage of the helicopter is even slightly damaged, i cant use the gun, i cant use the atgms, i cant use hydras, it sucks and has been a problem since its been implemented, Especially since its only that way for low tier helicopters, imagine using the japanese huey and you get hit once with a 50 cal. you can still fly but now you cant use hydras and its extremely annoying
I still think it’s too many but that’s a start. AI Shilkas need to be turned down significantly, though. Right now they are insta kill machines that have 100% accuracy.
I will miss the event. The marker less RB for jets most of all things.
Also it is nice to have an objective to play around , even if it wasn’t so balanced because of the AI Shilkas i was having fun and i was way more into the game than normal RB, work with the radar, don’t overpull in turns because you lose sight more easily all these things. SARH kills … it’s different game.
We should have events like this more often.
Honestly, this seems to have backfired horribly. Its incredibly easy to win as the US team now, while it feels nigh impossible to do so as the russians without a full 4 man coordinating.
I think people just needed time to adapt to the gameplay of the event.
Also, as some additional feedback, the Soviet team needs to have some sort of RP/SL reward for winning. With Shilkas and SAM batteries contributing to enemy kills, a lot of the MiGs are ending up with no kills by the end of the match despite doing their jobs in keeping the SAM sites safe. A flat reward for winning as the defenders alongside the regular rewards for kills and assists would go a long way in helping this imo.
Nah the Shilkas are fine, I thought they were a little strong at first and felt like random deaths sometimes, but after playing some more, I have no issues with how they are.
Removing 4 players from the Soviet team changes nothing when they aren’t the ones getting most the kills
US teams are still getting slaughtered en masse because the average player doesn’t know how to hit these targets from a safe distance and those that do and slip through eventually get swarmed when all the meat toboggans are gone
They are the last line of…kill steal!!
Even if you have the best teamates and they respect everything, the Shilka is ruthless. Why let you gring when IT can grind instead!!
By now Shilka has researched the rest of the Soviet tree in 2 days!
