Transfer of console-created accounts suspended until further notice

It would theoretically be this easy, but in practise there are MULTIPLE data protection laws that has to be followed both within and outside the EU. Making an automated process that follow all regulations and laws isn’t as easy as it sounds. The program also has to be tested and validated so no users data is accidentally corrupted or deleted in the process.

Sure it can be done, but i don’t think it is as easy as you make it out to be.
And as they have stated themselves:

Maybe they sort the issues that make players want to transfer.

Work out how to give us access to market place, earn GE on external apps etc.

Then there would be no need to switch.

Cheers

But there are a lot of companies with Games that support cross platform and has account transfering, and they doesn’t seem to have all these problems, I remember playing Destiny 1 and 2 on PS4 the moment i switched to pc, magic, account transferred in seconds, and we are talking about more than 6 years ago, also Blizzard does this and also Riot with cross platform account and purchases with same markets just to say some names, that’s why we are keeping annoying Gaijin about this situation

Is it hard that what he said it might be true, but the amount of money it would bring gaijin would surely outweigh the cost to set it up.

I don’t get that you guys are talking about how transferring the console accounts to PC accounts would make gaijin money?

For now it’s an expensive manual process and automating it lawfully, bugless and cross-platform/Data-Language and data-types-wise would be a very high skill wise task for developers, the legal team and would take up considerable resources which could be used elsewhere. (As has been pointed out by others, the use of ChatGPT being considered is really funny to read though).

==> It’s expensive for Gaijin.

In making a console account you get acces to the store that has the vehicles and services which Gaijin has agreed to pay a cut towards the console manufacturer/the store owner (Microsoft or Sony). Nowhere is said that you get acces to the player-operated marketplace, and I don’t even think you can see the marketplace through the console client, unless they changed that last year. The marketplace was always a PC exclusive option, at first even separate from the steam client, untill they changed it so that steam users could buy all their stuff also directly without violating Valves ToS. (Which still also needed manual account transferring at first for some, unless I’m misremembering).

==> You can already buy whatever you could originally on your accounts’ store as advertised.

I assume that you’re saying that you and others may spend more on the game if they were PC accounts instead? But, for example in the marketplace, gaijin might not even make their money’s worth back for transferring your account. Notwithstanding the legal trouble for each individual player in the EU or other places with similar protection laws.

Matchmaking may be cross-platform, but the access to a lot of vehicles never was, nor will it be for the foreseeable future.

hey do you guys know if it will ever be possible to make a pc account from my psn account? and if yes when?

People link their accounts mainly when they switch from playing on consoles to a pc. Once someone can afford a pc to play the game on, why should they keep playing it on their console as well?
And once they are on pc, why should they still be limited?

This wasnt my second reason, but a continuation of the first. I never said youd lose your WT purchases, but rather what you bought in other Gaijin titles.

Prerequisites

  1. For technical reasons, we do not offer the unlinking for accounts that also played PC versions of our games (Crossout, CRSED, Star Conflict). If you are willing to sacrifice your progress/purchases in PC versions of those titles, inform support about this in your request.
  2. The email your Xbox-account is bound to has to be verified (you can check this in your profile at Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On), otherwise you won’t be able to reset your password and enable 2-step authorization once the unlinking is complete. In order for email to be verified, it has to be working address and you should have access to it. Please ensure it before proceeding with unlinking, this article might be helpful for you - https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/115005277969-Additional-e-mail-addresses-binding-Linked-e-mail-addresses-removal-Login-management
  3. You have to leave your squadron if you are a member of any. You will have to enlist back to it once the unlinking is finished.

ChatGPT is nothing more than an extremely advanced calculator. If you give all, and the correct, information it needs it can be surprisingly accurate.

Yes they can, easily. Everyone’s accounts are unique, but the structure that the info is saved to isnt.

And this was because someone, a person, made a mistake.
It has nothing to do with how difficult automating the process would be. And if anything an automated process would be less likely to make mistakes like this.

Gaijin already has all of this info. We are playing on Gaijin’s servers, not servers owned by the console companies.

Gaijin knows which accounts are located where, and is already handling our data.
When asking to unlink our accounts we are giving permission for Gaijin to manipulate the data gaijin has for that purpose which negates the laws put inplace to keep Gaijin from manipulating our data without our permission.

Tested and validated? From Gaijin? That would be a startling first.
But like any save editor ever made, simply make a copy, edit the copy, once you know everything is good then delete or store the original.

Gaijin has the manpower, they just dont want to work on this.
This automation should have happened along side the automation of the linking process.

Because those of us with linked accounts have to buy everything through the console stores, which the console companies take a cut of.
If they unlinked our accounts, Gaijin would get the full amount without sharing any of the proceeds with the consoles.

The linking process has always been automated… It wasnt that difficult, or expensive, that Gaijin couldnt make that happen.

This is funny. No one has ever said they should take a direct copy of the results and use it.
ChatGPT would give Gaijin a starting point without having to start from scratch and hopefully save months of devolvement.
ChatGPT is a tool, might as well use it.

And yet Gaijin only gains by transferring accounts from, at a minimum, preventing the console companies from taking a share.

Nobody here has stated they wanted access to the marketplace while on console.
We are here because we are playing on PC, but still dont have access to it.

Yes, but console stores release stuff days, sometimes weeks, after it is for sale on the regular Gaijin store. And console linked accounts can not partake in any of the sales Gaijin has as we can not purchase anything from the regular store/game.

Marketplace sales were never gonna make their money back, nor was that even pointed out. Where Gaijin makes their money back is from removing the console’s cut from regular GE/pack purchases.

We are giving Gaijin permission to manipulate our data for this purpose which, just like when we gave Gaijin our info originally and gave them permission to keep it when we created our accounts, completely negates any legal issues.

Even on console you technically have “access” to all the vehicles through the loot boxes. But unlike buying one off the market place the loot box may only give you a .0000000001% chance at getting the vehicle.

Either way you have to link your account to use your console account on pc until you have it transferred. Once you have it transferred you have access to everything normal PC accounts have. As a game master said their is also laws they have to deal with. I know a bit about IT and some other things that take part in how doing transfers work. Automating it will just make things a lot more worse. I plenty of other games out there that have switched to a automated process to do things like this the communities instantly complain about more of the issues or wait times because the system gets overwhelmed. The system Gaijin has right now works. Just they either need to get a hell of a lot more people dedicated to doing it and/or people need to just understand it takes time. Ever since they started to allow account transferring they open for a bit and close a month or two later then open within usually a year. It’s not the best but it’s a hell lot better than a AI system that could easily get overwhelmed and cause bigger fuck ups

Yes, thanks. We all know how this works and why we are here.
The “laws” are only another excuse in the long line of excuses. We are giving permission for Gaijin to manipulate our data, which negates most, if not all, law issues.
Nevermind the fact that Gaijin’s EULA pretty much gives them the OK to do whatever they want with our data any how.

Ok then, be productive in this conversation or leave.
Automating this process can do nothing but help Gaijin as at a minimum it will limit transfer mistakes and prevent Gaijin from being “overwhelmed” by the amount of work.

No it doesnt, if they have to keep stopping then clearly it doesnt work.

This is only because Gaijin has thus far refused to spend anytime coming up with a better way to do this. They spent the time automating the linking process and they shouldve, at the same time, came up with an automated way to unlink.
Gaijin knew exactly that the linking would be mainly used by people who didnt want to play on console anymore at all.

I never said anything about using AI to unlink, you need to go re-read my past statements. And also maybe scroll up a ways and read some of the conversation from the last year so I dont have to keep repeating myself.
And how exactly would and automated system get overwhelmed? You arent making any sense. Computers, and programs, multi task far better than humans, part of the whole reason for their existence is to calculate and handle data which is exactly what we are asking of it here.

We get it, and we are all happy you got to be one of the lucky ones and had your account transferred. But you really need to scroll up, maybe read some of the old forum topics, so that way you arent just making everyone here repeat themselves when you point things out that have already been pointed out and repeatedly debunked already.
