On the grounds that the Tornado MFG can, I cant think of any reason why the Italian Tornados couldnt.
Its more than likely that Italy just always ran fuel tanks or clean wings. Those wing pylons actually being used for weapons is incredibly rare for all nations.
So can be done and was done are 2 potentially different things and given the AS-34s and Sea Eagles being mounted on those pylons, I dont see why they would limit the italian tornados differently, especially as its the wing pylons that would be the more useful place to mount them in WT.
Fixed in 2.51.0.8, now we can finally play sim in the A-200C and feel immersive. Feels a lot more powerful now that you can actually see the flares from the cockpit (when wings are fully open)
Hopefully when they eventually let the rest of the Italian and German Tornados (and the German F-104G) carry the AS.34 it will have a limited ability to hit GPS target points. Would be a fun way to use the IDS, especially seeing as at 10.0 GRB you get only dumb bombs currently and only GBU’s (no IOG) on the 11.3 MLU… against things with Mavs, Kh-39, etc…
first two have been accepted (probably need to remind devs because they likely already forgot)
I just reported the SCALP-EG so that needs to be upvoted, im going to make on for GR.4 soon
I also have been doing research on the Italian RWRs.
It seems that they were upgraded to RWR-90 in 1990 in preparation for operation locusta. I cant find any information on this other than it happened and it expanded the threat library to more types.
From here it gets hard to understand and it is possible that the ELT/750 was added as part of the MLU upgrades or what. I found a report from 2003 about the ECR variant which said the Italian version had a seperate elettronica made RWR from the German version, so this could be the ELT/750 or possibly the RWR-90 (though I dont know its manufacture)
Additionally the MLU upgrades saw the Elt/553 mk3i (or AR/3). Some places call this the RWR and some call it just the ESM. From what elettronica brochure i saw it says that it was an upgrade for the elt/553 mk2 (obviously) which was added in the 1990 in preparation for op locusta. It the brochure says that the AR-3 / Mk3i system was to upgrade the ESM and RWE warning reciever. Possibly the upgraded RWR in the Elt/553 mk3i is just the elt/750
So from the beginning it could be RWE → RWR-90 → ELT/750? / AR-3 mk2? / AR-3C?
Just thinking now, with nuclear thunder becoming a permanent game mode they really ought to add the Kormoran to the IDS finally like we have been asking for years lol
they finally have for every german and italian tornado, with the early IDSs (the ids and premium german ids) and the ASSTA, 1995, and the MLUs with the kormoran 2
This is much much better than I was expecting. italy didnt even operate the Kormoran 2 so this is definitely a win. Ill mark it as fixed when the update comes out because they could always ragebait us on the dev
yeah i was surprised about the kormoran 2 as well, but im happy about it, i was so annoyed that italy had no anti ship missiles, still hoping for the marte to be added (altho the tornado never carried that)

Yeah I read those and I would be fine if Italy got only fixes and historical changes, but this is microscopic to the amount of changs we would need to justify no new vehicles
