Leaving aside the HOSBO issue, I would be very pleased if the GBU-16 on the Tornado were finally replaced with the GBU-48. Unlike the GBU-16, the GBU-48 is at least part of the Bundeswehr’s inventory. Even though, to my knowledge, it is primarily used on the Eurofighter, it would still be compatible with the ASSTA 3.1.

Yes, that’s correct. ASSTA 1 currently lists the GBU-16, which was primarily used by the British and, to my knowledge, never belonged to the Bundeswehr. For this reason, I would prefer ASSTA 3.1 to use the variant that is at least currently in the Bundeswehr inventory, namely the GBU-48. A small positive side effect would be that the GBU-48 also has GPS and isn’t solely laser-guided.
Perhaps things will turn out completely differently, and the bomb type, with the exception of the GBU-24, will not be an option at all.
I wrote an Mail to the “Taktische Luftwaffengeschwader 51” and asked if the 48 can be used by the Tonka or if thats not possible because reason xy

Good idea, I would have otherwise thought of TaktLwG 33. That would be the big question, since it’s actually intended for the Eurofighter. I wouldn’t bet on it, but the GBU-48 is based on the Mk-83, and with the latest weapons computer, which also works for the LJDAM, it should theoretically work… but as I said, I wouldn’t bet on it.
I also thought of WTD 61, and WTD 91 also came to mind, so I could ask them for information.

How about HARM? Are there any plans for the near future?
I dont think we have HARM in game YET
We dont have anti-radiation missiles in game currently. So HARM would not come by itself.
Will we see any other weapons in the SLE that aren’t currently on the dev server? Is it possible to swap the GBU-16 for the GBU-48? After all, the GBU-16 wasn’t used by Germany.
