Infrared or laser-guided?
It uses a combination of GPS INS and EO (TV)
MFRLs do not make the plane able to Use these missiles
its just an empty rail that fits on any NATO pylon, the plane itself still has to be compatible with the Missile on it
the MFRLs also fit: IRIS-T, ASRAAM, ALARM, METEOR and many more missiles
its quite nice IRL because it replaces all specific missile pylons, it does however not make the Plane able to use any more than before we had these
God, please. I would play the everliving hell out of this tornado.
Interesting addition. Will be interesting to see what its final loadout is like.
From experience with the GR4… 12.3 is wierdly good for it. You are woefully under powered but you encounter far less base bombers and so have far less compeition. Also people never expect an IRCCM missile from a Tonka and so defend like its just a 9L.
But god damn they need get on with Tonka fixes. Such as:
- FM
- Radar
- Missing loadout
- ECM
 etc etc
Well I am still using the ASSTA1 at 12.3/12.7 so this will be a big upgrade for me lol
I mean ARB.
GRB, I use the GR1 at 11.7 rather than upping our entire lineup to 12.3 for the exact same aircraft and weapons.
Does it have TERMA currently?
Also gunna call slight BS if it gets 9L/i stock vs the GR4 which has 9L stock with 9Ms as a T3 mod
yes
Omg yay! The current top tornado in the german tree looked underwhelming, this one I actually want not just for scratching the tornado itch
Finally! I know the Tornado won’t be exactly amazing in the game, but maybe it’ll get some cool gadgets like the Elta TSPJ and maybe even the AGM 88B Harm.
ARMs would bea a lot of fun for all the Tonkas
the problem is 12.3 same br with new russian premium su 30 kh29,kh59 and fox 3 missile or look at the f4 ice have 2 agm65 and because have fox 3 is 12.0 in ground battle so “balanced”
I love the Tornado but it’s an extremely gimmicky aircraft for the game, handles like a brick, it’s DOA for ARB, and it will probably be overtiered in ground battles, just like the ICE is, there is a reason you don’t see the GR.4 often either.
Stock grind will be ass for sure…
At least it gets IRCCM stock.
The GR4 kinda sucked when I did it with only 9Ls
At least it’s alright for SIM EC, but it sucks that there isn’t anywhere else to play it. Hopefully SEAD and the recent test event will make the Tonka shine again
I wierdly kinda like the Gr4 in ARB. The uptiers suck, but you avoid most of the Mig-23ML and F-4S base bombers so you arent competting with anywhere near as many base bombers. The unlimited CMs is kinda nice as well, just leave MAWS on and I rarely have to proactively deploy CMs against threats and the 9M gives usable teeth, something the GR1 simply doesnt have (also the Mk103s feel sooooo much better)
But…
At the end of the day. Im still dropping 5x Mk13s onto 1x base just like I would in the Tonrado Gr1 as well as the Jags or even Harriers. Which is a shame for an aircraft that should have such a range of advanced A2G loadout options, and bar the 9Ms, its not that far off the RET8 at 11.7, just a chunk more flares. So its BR is questionable
What even is the point of adding this? Like I understand partially but like, the current German tornado ingame can already get BOZ-101EC and 9L/I, and the current assta seems to have more armament (keep in mind I’m completely ignoring the brimstones because if gaijin actually adds those then I don’t know what to say)
Would be great to see this added whilst the A-200C still has genuine bugs and historical inaccuracies (only 1 has been fixed which was already in the files when it was added, the devs are just too incompetent to add it for a minor nation)
I really don’t understand gaijin at all anymore, they don’t really even make the smartest business choices and if the listened more to the community it could be a lot more profitable and open many more sources of income. I hope someone buys out gaijin and makes some changes to be honest
You forgot gaijin doesn’t give unique vehicles what makes them unique. At this point with senrai maiden stuff I feel we are getting a LOT closer to what made WOT fall
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Even though I would like to see the Brimstones on the ASSTA, it must be said that it never had the capability for this armament. The same mistakes were made with the German Eurofighter. The German Eurofighter won’t receive Brimstone III until next year or the year after.
But back to the topic. I think it’s timely and appropriate that anti-radar missiles come into play. The Tornado would be the perfect platform to start with the AGM 88B HARM.
I could live with that idea very well and it shows at least a few differences between the Tornado variants.
And it looks really really nice. I know the pictures show the ECR variant, but that doesn’t matter, because the IDS can also carry the HARM. This is also confirmed on the official Bundeswehr website.
