the Historical brimstone is not a simple F&F weapon, what it perform is Lock-on After Launch, pliot can launch all the missile and let them found target by themselve only, and they use millimetric-wave active radar homing which casue they can ignore smoke, which is too op to the game( and also may cause many teamkill)
If only devs could implemet them as IR… you know, for “balancing reasons”
I belive the best way is make it as a normal F&F weapon as the AJ.168
Looks like someone forgot Khrizantema-S. Guess what? Of course a Russian vehicle lol.
- Why do you stubbornly ignore the suggestions about Brimstones that are being made in this thread and that solve the “balance” issues?
- Why can’t Brimstones be historically accurate in other modes, like ARB and Sim EC? What balance would be broken in this case?
That might perhaps be an idea. It would sort of give them the function but gimped for balance.
I think the issue there might be that they never functioned that way IRL and would then in practise just be a made up missile existing only for balance.
If they’re Brimstone I, sure, but the fact the one in-game is SAL means it’s one of the more modern multi-mode variants. Mode 1 is SAL only, which is what we have in-game. Mode 2 is SAL + mmW, which allows the pilot to tell the missile exactly what to lock, following the laser until the terminal mmW guidance. Mode 3 is full self-guidance, which is the mode that lets you fire in salvos, designate specific areas, and doesn’t require a visual of the targets.
If Gaijin are happy to give us a Mode 1 only version (I could be wrong but I think multi-mode seekers aren’t possible at the moment?), then (in future) there’s no issue with adding a separate Mode 2 variant with Mode 3 never coming to the game.
Sounds balanced to me, gaijin when???
That isn’t an AGM though?
and there are more tanks like that in the game.
Kinda incredible to see those with the best ground vehicles getting so butthurt about not also getting the most capable air to ground missiles, that would also be carried in the greatest quantity of any plane in the game and using a subsonic plane that carries 4 OP missiles as a point of comparison/reasoning for why the brimstone should be ARH.
So much cope.
I’m far from an expert but I’m fairly sure the AJ.168 never used the TV guidance it currently has in-game, having man-in-the-loop only IRL
We all know that the LOAL argument is just an excuse to nerf yet another NATO weapon system.
No one’s specifically advocating for LOAL capabilities due to the imbalance that would cause, yet suggestions to have Brimestone and Hellfire Lima’s added with LOBL (lock on before launch) or FnF capabilities (as we already have implemented in game) are typically ignored.
The original French name “Martel” is a short for " Missile, Anti-Radiation, Television"
There is many cases in this game of “made up” things that are not works the intended way. No reason to make exeption in this case, at least in my opinion
I belive there’s some Infrared smokes could serves as a countermeasure against radars in 94 GHz band, maybe just change the smoke of top teir vehicle to this kind of Infrared smokes can keep it balance
Give me an example of another ground vehicle in the game that can use its radar to lock onto a ground vehicle and guide missiles?
In this case the signal from the seeker is sent back to the launch aircraft where the weapons officer manually guides it to the target. In-game TV guidance, where you designate a target point/vehicle and the missile guides itself to it, is ahistorical but is used as the manual control would be far too effecive in comparison.
Wonder if f15E will be longer range or higher payload than gr4
Maybe both
the TV guided of AJ.168 is the controller keep control the missile through a TV camera signal, not a F&F weapon
