Tornado F.3 Op Granby: Tonka goes to war

So the 1991 model would have AIM-9M and RCS reduction, but the mid-90s model wouldn’t? That doesn’t seem right.

Well it’s how it was IRL. AIM-9M was pulled from service in favour of domestically modified AIM-9Ls (basically equivalent to AIM-9M). And the RAM was removed because it was a lot of work to maintain and not needed outside of the Gulf.

Obviously Gaijin haven’t given the mid 90s version we have in game IRCCM missiles though for balance reasons.

Why are people so scared of Fox 3? even if it based on one of the worst ranged SARHs of the 70s and 80s?
Maybe we could get Active Skyflash SuperTEMP, the later ASF on the SuperTEMP frame and the Tonka could go at 12.3, 12.7 at the highest but you’ll be outranged at most distances and when you do fire, it could get fooled then go after a “friendly”

maybe this tonka will be fun to play

Question; would it be wrong for game naming sake to call this F.3 the EF.3? This one was modified to carry ALARM and I don’t want to see a name in WT that is just called: Tornado F.3 Op. Granby, Tonka EF.3 sounds a lot cooler, even if the name was never officially adopted

This one wasn’t the ALARM carrying version, that was a late 90s / early 2000s project for the second Gulf War (though it never ended up being used).

active skyflash would be nice to see in game, even though it would probably be the weakest active missile in game if added

Yeah, maybe they could make it Active Skyflash SuperTEMP (Tourettes Embodiment Missile Program)

All that to be out maneuvered by a C-5 galaxy.

+1 bc it goes zoom

lol maybe but they could add it to the tornado f3 late as starter missile instead of the super temps

Honestly, just give these tweaks to the in-game F.3 late as buffs since its airframe is mediocre already.
