Personally, I think Germany just needs more top tier vehicles. +1!
no not yet,
common understanding is that it was a flightless mockup/prototype.
its in my topics of interest tho so ill defo be looking into it
It will be good helicopter with some assumptions. Germany need it, because i think it will best that we can get…
i just found out some new things about Bo-105, maybe we can give it more weapons
Good thing :)
Ive been intruiged by something…
We all know this picture from Jenoptik’s presentation:
Now some say this is photoshopped. But something was bothering me. It is obvious that this is not a production series Tiger UHT, since it still is mounting the trials navFLIR under the nose.
As far as i am aware, there were 5 prototypes, PT1, PT2, PT3 (inc. PT3R), PT4, PT5 (inc. PT5R).
There were Tiger PIR and SIR (Primary and Secondary Integration Rigs) but i have reason to believe they were just grounded test benches.
PT2 and PT4 are not UHT standard so we can remove those from consideration.
PT1, PT3, PT5 remain.
PT1 (F-ZWWW) did not have the cut-out just below the rotors facing the front.
Hence it too is not the one shown in the picture at the top.
PT3 and PT5 remain.
Here is where things get interesting.
This is a Tiger’s Nose

Take a look at this lower panel highlighted in blue.

Now look at where the RMK-30 is placed in the presentation picture.
Thats a bit too exact to be a photoshop job. It is known that Germany wanted a mid-life upgrade for the Tiger which would have integrated the RMK-30 as is mentioned in many sources, not to mention the fact that the RMK-30 was made for the Tiger UHT.
My search is for finding this exact airframe and to move onwards to finding more information about this model.
What is confusing is this, the F-ZWWW and F-ZWWT prototypes. some sources indicate they are just other names for the PT1-5 series.
According to Janes, F-ZWWW is the PT1.
While this may be the case. Whats more might surprise you
Here is the F-ZWWT

but wait…
This is the F-ZWWT too???

then again, this is the F-ZWWT as well??

This shows that the prototypes and/or the production aircraft were configurable even across versions of the UHT/HAP/HAD.
Now i am writing this as i am researching and i just may have discovered the exact airframe that was used.
if you look carefully, there is an eye decal on the Tiger right in front of the front cockpit.

Here is the airframe that meets most of the characteristics of the one in the picture (comparison)
Now its not an image flip because the tail rotor, eurocopter logo and Osiris sight are flipped in a way that cannot be done digitally.
So these are not the same photo, but otherwise, the fuselage and markings of both these airframes seem to be an EXACT match.
ive found other pictures of it as well
^ Also featured on Air International magazine’s front page
Ive contacted Airbus and others to gather more information. For now, this is post#1
Incredible research, hopefully this goes towards giving german helis more options for self defense 👍
I once found information about a turret (gun) for the Ger version of the Eurocopter a long time ago, but I doubt I’ll be able to find anything now.
The last thing I remember from that source, it said that the gun was abandoned due to the cost of equipping the production model
bro is doing proper detective work for a helicopter. what a time to be alive
Well, depending of Gaijin that make a final decision. We need many votes and support for this theme to its implementation
Also you think that lower panel can be removed for installation?
Also i understand him and fully support. Because UHT have very bad defense in close combat… Long range missles would be also good to fight with aircraft.
Yes i believe so.
The other tiger’s hacw provisions to mount cannons under the nose, it is provided in the skeleton of the aircraft.
As the image has shown, the lower panel being removed gives way and place toount the rmk-30.
Otherwise, there would never have been a plan to mount the RMK-30 on thr UHT ever.
Well, we need Devs decision. But we don’t have many chances to see it in game. “Isn’t historical” that usual answer for planned manufacturing, which also work in different side in some exceptions (all knows but i remind: yak-141, Japanese f-16 and so on)
Interesting: in what part of vehicles Gaijin put this KHT on prototype or newer exist?
Tiger UHT but with turret? +1!
The one with the rmk-30 is still under scrutiny but ill keep searching for proof whenever i have time
I hope you will found something new. Chances low, but wishes big…
okay so, by this point in time, i have no doubt, that the image is in fact NOT A PHOTOSHOP, and the Tiger prototype was actually trialled with the RMK-30 since in can see no signs of a photoshop job being done, and the integration of the RMK-30 follows what the body (nose) of the Tiger is designed as.
It have a place for it in bottom panel, that i think can be removed. So we have interesting situation like with Shredinger cat…
