Germany put RMK-30 on a wiesel and they proposed putting it on a submarine. Everything but what it was originally intended to be on: the damn chopper. Is there any possible proof it can mount it? Devs haven’t been shy before of adding armament just because something is able to wield it. Germany isn’t looking into choppers until 2030, so it would at least be nice to get the KHT with the turret.
The mounting points exist under the fuselage, yes. But they’re not used.
Germany maintained the right to deploy a gun on it but doctinally chose not to.
The chin area for all the tigers is actually swappable. Initially, nexter (iirc) offered a chin mounting for both a 20mm and a 30mm. The 30mm was chosen later on (for the HAD, etc).
As for the RMK30, it was developed to be integrated into the UHT, but costs were too much. It wouldn’t have even been considered if it wasn’t possible.
Besides, we have a graphic of how it would have been integrated (edited image from that presentation everyone has seen).
By the way the image u attached is from when eurocopter tried to sell the tiger to Pakistan. But by that point they were in shambles with a reputation worse than most.
