I mean for its time the radar on it was pretty powerfull but the mig 31 is everything that the foxbat was not. Still with the 4g max overload and after the 1.5 it becaumes 6 gs that still is not that much but keep in mind that the f104 has a max overload of 7gs. So it would turn a litle worse than an 104 but would have decent missils and would be at a good br of 11.0
I think your perspective that such a plane could go at 11.0 is very skewed. Likely, they’ll put it anywhere from 12.7-13.3, if they ever add it. Farming kills in a foxbat while sitting at mach 3 so nobody can kill you is insane. just IMAGINE the amount of complaints with a MiG-25 at the same BR as the F-5E. If they ever decided to add it to the game I’d pray they don’t put it at a BR where it can literally just run away from everything.
Yea but you face aircraft at that br with radar missils like the f4e i mean the missils dont go that far yet from frontal it will hit and your forgeting that you cant even out turn an aim 9b so you would have to fly fast yet there are aircraft with aim 9Ls and other good missils. So if i was gaijin i would put it at a br of 11.0 to 12.0 because at 13.3 you would be versing aircraft that have fox 3 missils with ranges well over 40km range like the peonix or fakour 90. I would still say that if the foxbat was running away and an eurofighter was hunting it from behind the aim 120b would probs only be able to catch it at a range of 9km or 8km away otherwise it would just outrun it. And if the foxbat went mach 3 it would burn up its engines and have to skrap them so your max speed would be 2.83
Imagine you’re flying your foxbat and you have two R-40T and two R-40R missiles (which can turn 25G and go around mach 3.5) and are going about mach 2. First off (assuming the plane doesn’t have flares), you see a plane with radar missiles, about 7 KM out. You launch a missile, pitch up your nose, and if you need to turn around while SUSTAINING about mach during that turn. Their missiles simply cannot catch you. I don’t think this needs that much explanation but a German F-104G sits at 11.0. the F-104 ASA sits at 12.0. Neither of those planes hold the capability to kill a passive Mig-25 player, and if they don’t want to die, they WONT die. They can go climb miles above the airfield and play very passively all game, and without it facing Fox-3 missiles, it just promotes this behavior. So, to sum up my thoughts, they should add a variant with Chaff and Flares (as there are variants able to) and put it at 12.3 or 12.7. But even then it still promotes passive aggressive flying… So?
Thats fair it does have a max altitude of 38km so it could go as high as it wants but if it was 7km away from you and moving towards you at an angle it would still hit if they both were at the same altitude or a 5 km altitude differens
Im a litle with you at a br of 12.3 to 12.7 it would have a chance of versing for 3 missils and would be a good br for it but being an aircraft that has a max g of 6gs in game it would have no chance to dogfight and would have to rely on its speed to win.
if you pull a missile vertically and sustain high speeds, once it stops burning it loses speed very quickly. I’m serious, I don’t think missiles would be able to hit it, unless they are Fox-3 missiles or are very fast like the R-27 missiles.
yeah but when an F-104C does that, its also pretty effective and annoying. Now imagine having to hit a Mig-25 with guns or get lucky with a missile
Yes it would be anoying but the r27 is a fox 1 you need to keep the lock to hit your target. And thw r40 radar missil on the foxbat has a max range of 35 to 50km
