The War Thunder Roadmap for Spring to Summer 2024

For once i’m gonna add a +1,… for once ^^"

This is going to be a GOOD year. Love to see the split BRs and fuel slider, it’s gonna make air battles so more fun now that strike aircraft can be balanced more appropriately to their air combat capabilities. Can’t wait to fly out heavy fighters like the mosquito with more appropriate fuel loads.

This would be nice if done earlier so that there isn’t any big gap between roadmaps like there was now :)

this is most welcomed and i’m VERY happy to see it!

  • The ItO 90M giggles in anticipation.
this is nice one, the ItO 90M had a period otherwise of like an entire minute of standing still in a zone hoping to survive until reloaded.

this could be a great thing if implemented correctly. but i’m wary since it could clutter the experience of the game. maybe different levels of complexity depending on AB/RB/SB ?

THIS! could solve A LOT of issues with CAS in Ground-RB if implemented in a good way.

not a day to soon. this has been needed for a long time.

OH HECK YES!
i want my CV9040 serries to SLAPP! :D
with this change to programmable ammo, may i suggest the addition of blinding tanks by destroying the viewports/cameras. seems like it would go hand in hand with the new injured crew plans. a very big idea behind many programmable ammos was to blind tanks and shoot aircraft (and infantry but that’s not relevant for the game).

The ability to make trenches would perhaps be cool for vehicles that have a bulldozer and/or the option for one IRL.

THIS, more of THIS! yes please and thank you!

this has taken a very long time, but hey, better late than never.
i just hope that its not too small, there i a very high chance of the bonus being significantly smaller than the community would want it to be. fingers crossed.

QOL changes, always appreciated!

this one would be cool to add titles/profile pictures/decals to. it would incentivize actually reporting people and would increase the frequency of reports on bad players, quickening the ban of them.
(maybe a point system where if you report to many players that then don’t get banned you loose points?)

overall this looks good!
looking forward to A LOT of these changes :)

I’m pretty sure it will come up with time.
Wait for the news i guess ^^"

you’re telling me the same feature that puts a player into a map they’ve banned works totally fine for putting me in maps I like? yeah right

These are amazing news. Thank you for sharing them and for your commitment towards making of this a better game!

Me too

It was but like boundary to boundary, not spawn to spawn ^^"

that’s only if everything is implemented correctly and not only half finished or straight up bugged, which happen usually.

Well,… be honest for once:
When was last time (steam spam excluded) that we were heard that much by Devs?

Again, handling of FREE aircraft crashing into the ground all the time to precisely hit with cannons or rockets, and free bombers in GFAB is just going to be pretending that gaijin listens to the community, and instead we’ll get … LOL … a random reward after the end of the mission, that we’ll most likely not going to get anyway.

The physical size of maps may be larger but when its comprised of 90% city and 10% field the maximum engagement distance is smaller

Yes I hoped for the option to switch torpedo mode in-battle (change torps range and speed)

You’re always getting it,… but how can you know?
Too many players crash spam in Arcade,…

Same for me. My dream always was a mixed ground/ air EC format with different objectives, stages for both teams, one pushing one defending. Defenders holding some crucial storages of ammo/ fuel which needs to be captured by attackers in order to resupply and gain more spawn/ score. Battles which could take anywhere from 1-3hours with proper dynamics and proper rewards.

Maps With different rural/ open field/ hilly terrain, big in size with many flanking opportunities (maybe 6x6 or 9x9kms) and teams of 32x32 players.Mode where everything could be slower, more tactical, scouting could be crucial and “organized” pushes could take place.

Really nice changes, although there are some others I would have wanted to see, this will definitely do for the time being.

Twice, December and May feedback forms.
Steam spam didn’t do anything outside cause Valve a headache.

@Nano_gaming765
Pradesh, remade Volokalamsk, Fire arc, Flanders, Red Desert, Second Battle of El Alamein… all newer maps, all post-1km engagement ranges.

My point is that the air mission spawn layout decides whether you will survive the bombing run or not. So it’s better to take the chance of delivering the bombs and dying instead of surviving a bit longer and not delivering the bombs. The reward doesn’t make any change here. The reward will only change it for interceptors and escorts maybe, and only for those that aren’t focused on hunting down specific types of ground vehicles for a task.

Yes, but the reward won’t change it. As long as it’s not your own aircraft like in GFRB/Naval AB, there will be planes crashing into the ground all the time.

Those are the result of the december one,… and i excluded the may one in my question

Hum no,… skill issue? Maybe, but i’m not here to judge.

Most of the time i get away from the “set n°3” in which you have “no chances of surviving” is due to me and my ability to lure my ennemy to open fire not on my aircraft ^^"
