The US Aviation Tree needs new missiles

The missile that will pull a 270° turn to hit you at any practical ingame range, even at point blank, is worse than the missile that will become incapable of hitting you as soon as you make a gentle turn (let alone at closer ranges) because it’s less maneuverable than a bus because… because of a theorical range advantage which has no impact nor application in actual gameplay terms and meta?

JAGM was added, as were other weapons.

never pulled that much when I’m using it, and lol, that thing barely reaches 15 km. Gaijin still hasn’t fixed the drag issue.

So where is the replay?

It seems we misunderstood each other. I meant aviation, that is, planes.

Yes, the AGM-179 missiles are undoubtedly the best the US missile branch has received in the last two or three years, with the exception of the AIm-120. Of course, they are significantly inferior in capabilities to the LMURs.

This is all very pointless, you’ll get your new glide bombs and smart missiles, you’ll be happy for a week, Gaijin will add things like Brimstone 2, Spear 3, Storm shadow. Then you’ll go back to moaning that the US is underperforming compared to other countries again.

The problem is the lack of American counterparts, not what Gaijin’s choosing to implement

AIM-120 is the most ineffective top tier missile. Crying is justified.

Why are you writing this here? If Europe isn’t getting something, then create your own thread about it. Why are you writing about British aviation problems in a thread about American aviation?

first things off: we need to understand the need
so to make it into context, i looked up your ability to play the game (thanks Statshark website)

and as expected, you’re as good as most people complainning, either called as: “average”

you’ve got following results, depending on Rank vehicules:
Rank 8 : 12 aircrafts total - only USA ones - only 4 got positive Air-Air KD - 8 played more than 50 games
Rank 7 : 11 aircrafts total - only USA ones - only 0 got positive Air-Air KD - 8 played more than 50 games
Rank 6 : 10 aircrafts total - only 2 of them aren’t USA - only 1 got positive Air-Air KD - 5 played more than 50 games
Rank 5 : 12 aircrafts total - 1 of them aren’t USA - 0 got positive Air-Air KD - 4 played more than 50 games

So,… i know, i shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover (as you seemed to use some of them in GRB: F3D / A-10), but you doesn’t seem well-versed in Air combat to understand the qualities of your current missiles and aircrafts.

you also seem to doesn’t know that gaijin is adding new missiles of the same category or qualities to everyone at once, and not to one country (but this is normal - you’ve mostly only played USA)

and it also seems, like many people complainning, that you can’t understand /or/see the difference between “USA” and “werstern countries”, last of which is basically refering to NATO which includes most europeans, Japan, South-Korea,… and some others.

so, when you write this:

i can tell you how much you’re wrong:

  • SAL Brimstone? (UK/Ger/ITA - Western countries)
  • AASM Hammers? (French - Western country)

now if we should look specifically to US made/used weaponnary, we should look at the amount of stuff that can be used at the same time:
F-15E can bring
6xAGM-65D + 20xGBU-39, giving a “CAS kill potential” to 26 kills through guided ammunitions
or
42xAPKWS + 20 GBU-39, giving a “CAS kill potential” to 62kills through guided ammunitions (even if i agree that you might need more APKWS per heavy tanks,… but against soft target? 1 can be enough)

no other aircraft in the game can do that! not one!
so yes, you’re short range in comparison to other stuff - but you got 3.5 to 16 times more A2G weapons:
J-10A are at 4xGuided A2G maximum (62/4 = 15.5)
Rafale are at 7xGuided A2G maximum (62/7 = 8.85)
Gripen / F-2A / Su-34 / Su-30SM / are at 8x guided A2G maximum (62/8 = 7.75)
Ef-2000 are at 18x Brimstones (62/18 = 3.44)

and none are “guaranteed kills” same as yours, some have more range, some have the same guided A2G than yours (gripens/F-2A),…

“oh what a shame,… Gaijin not adding ultra-long range missiles to a game in which the No-Escape Zone of those missiles are greater than the distance from spawn to spawn in biggest maps of the game,…”

if you didn’t understood yet: it’s Sarcasm about your demands

The current game doesn’t need such missiles,… “novelty” isn’t a guaranteed thing in this game
(check on User agreements and Licenses - there no part in those contract you’ve unformely accepted, that speaks about “adding novelty each years”)

And i do expect gaijin to add new map in early 2026, when they will be introducing newer missiles.
YES: it’s already announced by BVV_d in last controversial Q&A video)
[which was already a known information before you made your thread - so you just have to wait 3 more months, before getting splattered by Meteors and PL-15’s]

EDIT: Fixed amount

I understand. I won’t answer all your points. I’ll just be brief. The person above already tried to drag Europe and Brimstones into this. I asked him to create a separate thread about European aviation’s problems. Don’t bring up Brimstone problems here.
Why did I write “West”? Well, because many countries are also suffering while playing Mavericks. As for which missile is effective and which is not, that’s not for you to decide. Create your own thread and say whatever you want there.

Study the data and then express your opinion.

JASSM, SLAM.

Yeah, those are cruise missiles.

Forgot the aim 9x on the claws

and efv

In that game?

In what game? In WT, yeah, they’re the best.

So what am I supposed to study?
