Yes.
Fair enough. Can’t blame you because it can be very annoying.
Adding paper battleships would mean less work for Gaijin past the sourcing and modeling of these. I highly doubt that they are coming tho since it would open a massive can of worms that could spill over into the other modes.
Would be interested what Smin meant with his first comments in the Jean Bart news post: “There will be another french boat”.
This is old news by now but what did they mean? An AShM boat which turned out to not be ready for release yet or really sth like the Alsace-class, and they only realized after those comments that it was never laid down.
Welp guess we are getting missile ships XD
Sovremenny:

USS California:
Let’s see if they are AI assets or proper vehicles
The Sovremenny was shown launching P-270’s so it is very likely they are playable
Still trying to figure out if the missile originated from the Moskit launcher or the Shtil SAM launcher
the missile trail just lags behind because the ships is moving foward
I have read that the ASROC launchers can also be used to fire harpoons. Is that accurate and do you think that capability will be added to for example the Adams class ships assuming the Sovremenny and California actually are playable?
Yes, the Mk16 box launcher was capable of using both the RUR-5 ASROC and RGM-84 Harpoon
(image of the USS Badger)
Since RUR-5s are useless without having submarines in the game, Gaijin could definitely fit these ships with more Harpoons. They will need the extra warheads when going against the soviet destroyer with its 4x 30mm CIWS
Nice. Does the capability require a special modification of the ship’s fcs for example or is it available out of the box?
Older ships like the Charles F. Adams were modernized with a new FCS system so they could employ the new Harpoon missile. I did not read about the Mk16 box needing any upgrades since its just a bunch of rails in a housing.
The Charles F. Adams specifically was modernized in the early 1980s and its Mk11 Tartar missile launcher in the back (the one in-game that fires SAMs) was upgraded to handle the loading and firing of harpoons.

So Adams and Lütjens will probably be out, are from 1961 and 1969 respectively unless they add a refit modification to them. The chikugo could be funny if that dingy boat received harpoons.
If Gaijin is serious about adding AShM carriers to naval I expect them to add retrofits of existing vehicles to new BRs to fill out the matchmaker. The two ships from the teaser would not exactly give you good variety in gameplay XD
True that. Well, for now I just hope they will fix the track radars on the missile ships so that I can actually lock on on whatever radar contact I have.
You don’t enjoy the radar doing anything but locking and staying on target?
No playable missile ships this patch, would have been surprising
Three missile ships got passed to the devs today
USS Iowa, HMS Iron Duke and the Kongo class
3 you forgot Kongo
P-15 Termit will be so peak, just absolutely nuking everything you touch.
Enabling the inactive strela launchers would be a good start
Yeah, that too, especially as strela can’t be used against ships
