Would remove the rarity of it too fast, would need to be much more ge then 200 but yeah I could also see that happening for defined odds and sl crates staying the same. That way gaijin still will make bank too. Ill gladly pay like 10K ge or more for a garuntee on a missed vehicle. But wont spend any ge on sl for a non garuntee
100 Million SL is legit nothing. I spent Most of the Time 35-40 Mil per Event since last year and got like 5 vehicles which 4 are low BR Prems and one was the TCM AGS which got nerfed
These crates have only been up 3 or 4 times, i slap in about 30 mill each time plus what ever sl i get from repeats, so tbh its likely closer to 160 mill, so you and me are putting in comparable amounts.
The most I grinded before the travel suitcase wrecked it was 22,6 Million SL. Grinding a hundred or more takes a while, and with buying SL it costs almost 700 bucks.
Sure, for the boxes it is nothing, for a non-veteran though it is insane.
No worries, just catching up on what was added im at work so it takes me a few.
Those arguing against choosing your reward from a set of rewards are only PC users. Console users are screwed twice compared to PC players. So choosing my reward from a set list would be quite nice since coupons me absolutely nothing to me. It’s why I will always advocate for all premiums being released on console to be purchased anytime and not hiding them at all. Console users have a fraction of a chance to get what they want compared to PC users. I spent 20mil SL and go no decals, no vehicles, no coupons. Console players should only have vehicles in the boxes since we have no way of messing up PC precious market. Order, wagers are typically useless to me. And War bonds for coupons is so damn stupid for console users cuz the war bond shop is garbage.
EDIT: those who bring up the fact that console users could ruin the market, we can’t. It’s impossible to do since transferring is locked out and probably won’t ever open up again.
I believe this is the 10th time that sl crates have been openable, Counting this sl crate. They first appeared in april of 2022 iirc. Maybe was 2021 not 100% sure. Wish there was a list of all times they were added back.
They could also very easily just put them in the War Bond shop like they used to.
Typically the rare warbond shop vehicles were pre-battlepass and only on nov. For gaijins birthday month when warbonds rotated every 30 days you had to do basically every daily and special task not buy anything else with the bonds you collected for 1 rare, Its how I got my KV1B and TB3M lost so much sanity doing those.
I am also critical on the WB Shop, remember doing one BP for the Top Reward (Object 268) and those tasks were frustrating and when I got the top vehicle I was just glad to be done.
if that is the case i have whapped in way more, as every time one of these crates with the aircobras has been avalible i have dumped 20-30 mill on them plus the sl they give you then. I just remember doing the last three, so i can confidently say 100 mill minimum
Direct choice would still be bad, even for console players. They would reduce the chances to the IS-7 etc @ 0.001%, no dupes and still random is the only feasible route. Everything else about consoles makes sense, so, even more reason to change the boxes to no duplicates (OR at least give 10m+ SL for a dupe drop) as the console users wouldn’t affect the market whatsoever.
(Again the reason I keep arguing against direct choice is to try and get everyone onto one mostly united front. If we all fragment “demanding” different changes, the odds are that nothing will change.)
Wow! More ways to waste all my SL with the illusion of rewards! I will be sure to go into debt within the first day!

You can argue your point of view until you’re blue in the face, and fail to see that they would have to change the odds for your argument to be valid. And if they did, no one would bother the boxes and everyone (except content creators because they get given free high end stuff all the time) would raise hell. The fact that all of the player base can’t get on board and go against Gaijin like other player bases have with other games proves 2 things. Player base is too small and not all together, and gaijin doesn’t give two flying F’s for the player base and what they want changed. Nor do they actually give hand outs. (Monthly free vehicles that are a grindfest are not handouts) and the war bond ship on console should carry all premiums since copies of skins are only worth 25-50WB and coupons are worth 1600, and yet shi- rank 2-3 vehicles are worth 90% of your cap amount of war bonds of 3600. And console has no market.
Gaijin is a scum company, there’s no hiding it when it comes to things like this. The functionality of a lot of things that are time based are lacking such as war bond shop on gotcha chest.
You can get tornado on 50% now.
Warbond shop is for new players in my view
Did you read my full message here?
Please read the entire thing, especially the edit at the end:
My main point, for the third time now, is that the argument to able to choose a reward is a complete and utter fools errand, and will only make things worse, now and any possible future. Yes, yes, yes, they WOULD reduce drop rates if they make anything “better” than it is now. They have 0 reason to reduce the SL spending and grind/game time required. Please read everything I wrote in the link below so I don’t have to repeat myself over and over. Thank you.
The only other way to address your current comment about people raging, is to give everyone a choice, random drops with dupes, OR random drops without dupes, but WITH reduced odds. (And/or make it automatic, so that if a player has say, 50% of the vehicles already, switch over to no dupes+lowered odds etc. I would personally choose to flip the switch to no dupes+lowered odds regardless of how many vehicles I already had.) There is 0 chance they are going to do anything that we want, without doing something they would want. It is the only logical way that has a snowball’s chance in heck of happening.
EDIT: I will continue to argue the point until I am blue in the face 😂I do not care about the negative Nancy’s and will keep arguing logically and rationally. Which means considering Gaijin’s profits first and foremost, as you say it is what they care about the most. They are a for profit company, not a charity.
EDIT #2: This is EXACTLY why they will NEVER increase the odds of us getting what we want WITHOUT also LOWERING the % chance. The real minority that Gaijin cares about are players like these:
Blud Ka-chi isn’t even tradable anywere and so are many more event things. So it does not affect the market whatsoever. It should change at least for vehicles that you get immediately and cant sell. Should just be same chance to get a vehicle as now in like low mid tier and higher br drop would be slightly rarer. As when you get a higher br drop you could still choose whatever lower br vehicles is below said br.
The way it is now is only okay for ppl that play anything and everything or collect all vehicles which is minority as its kinda impossible to collect all vehicles. Majority of warthunder average players are glad to have over a million or few milion to spare and have some cool vehicle they wanna play, but spend all their money and if they get something then they get something they dont want to and wont play it and only are frustrated.
I agree that changing the non obtainable vehicles that are not in the marketplace to no duplicate only would be “fine”, but without lowering the odds it would absolutely reduce the necessary grind time and SL spend. Which means less play time and less profit for the company. Especially the long time players with 10s or 100s of millions of SL, Gaijin wants them to burn all that SL, which is what a reduction in chance would do. Any increase in the player getting what they want, directly lowers the company’s income, hence, it simply wont happen without also reducing the drop chance overall.
But if the change is only done to the non marketplace vehicles, you would still get duplicates in the marketplace vehicles, making the change for non marketplace vehicles a moot point.
