It’s inevitable since we will likely see 5th gens in a years time or so if not added sooner.
If developers want to add 5th gens by December 2026, which is about 6-7 updates or so from now, then it is best they ramp up the amount of fixes they’re doing each patch from 4 a patch to a lot more so that the Rafale is in a place where it can contend with the 5th gen jets.
Spitballing here but let’s say there’s 100 open reports (and more to come), and 6-7 updates left, it would mean that 14 fixes would need to come per patch. It wouldn’t make sense for all these fixes to be sidelined and then fixed right before 5th gens come since Gaijin works in incremental steps.
In fact, I would argue that it would be beneficial for balance that the Rafale F4.2 with MICA NG EM and MICA NG IR come in a year’s time or less.
Or, or maybe we should just slow down and fix the existing tiers which are already pretty messed up as they are before we add 5th gen and force ourselves into adding another stream of new jets to compensate afterwards
Greece uses the same missiles as France. Some of their planes are from French inventory, some are new. They are called Rafale EG
I do not know exactly which tranche they are from. I do not think they are F3R, probably more F3 or F4. The former would not have the 8 missile pylons nor the AESA radar but the latter would.
They otherwise have the same missile integrations as Francefor air to air. I am not certain about AASM, as I don’t find information on wether they purchased any
Iirc, F3R is the standard that started being exported with the AESA radar, so it has to be that rather than F3. F3R is also paired with Meteor integration, nothing earlier than that.
And yeah their website confirms in the URL link that they have F3R
I suppose you’re asking because of Greece subtree. I see no reason Rafale won’t be copy paste into the subtree and also given the Meteor (later in due time ofc) but it would not have the MICA-NGs ofc.
