MICA has been advertised as Mach 4+, with a primary source at Mach 4.5. Statcard simply states Mach 4. They usually don’t show the entire picture.
I don’t know about the AMRAAM actual top speed personally.
Edit : Mach is dependent on temperature and altitude. Gaijin does take those into account. For temperature, they usually have 3 sets : one temperate, one hot and one cold for all different maps
Edit : that’s also the difference between speed IAS and the true airspeed (which I forgot the name)
Would anybody be able to test a custom weapon with SLM tuned to mica’s specs. I’d like to see how an actual V-Launch in game performs in terms of speed, it could be a limitation of statshark.
I have reported the beam width btw. It should be slightly better than mica as it stands. AMRAAM has plenty of room for improvements. Kinetic and guidance in game.
Beam should be ±6°, (and if search patterns are modelled there is a wide search too). Mica is ±7° and amraam/the rest are ±15°. In fact that’s actually wider than the wide search pattern.
I think its more a case of it having the most declassified docs, and being relatively close to them. Its still wrong in range and seeker. Probs maneuvrability too, seeing as gaijin made the decision to make it turn like a brick, but thats harder to prove.
well last i checked it matches the firing data, only reason it didnt was because customs and software like statshark had a M5.05 limit. This limit isn’t in the full game.
K so rechecked (on SS)
First shot:
Launch Aircraft: 15,000 ft / Mach 0.8
Target Aircraft: 500 ft / Mach 0.76
Expected launch range: 64km
Actual launch range (bug report): 54km
Actual launch range (SS): ~55.5km
Timeout miss, missile peak speed is a touch over M3.0, never close to M5.0 limit you stated, so its irrelevant.
Spoiler
Shot 2:
Launch Aircraft: 5,000 ft / Mach 0.9
Target Aircraft: 500 ft / Mach 0.9
Expected Launch Range: 57.5 km
Actual launch range (bug report): 52.5km
Actual launch range (SS): ~55.5km
Spoiler
Atleast according to SS, both test shots from the bug reports are still missing. SS actually seems to claim the ranges are better than they were when tested, possibly due to no netcode missile instability draining energy or a buff I’m not aware of, but afaik, the bug report is still valid and the AIM-120A is still underperforming in range rather substantially.
