Datamine
So there is no place in game where this value is present?
Not sure, I don’t see why calibre would be listed in the game. Devs usually don’t take datamined values but sometimes they do… who knows what they’ll do tbh
It is my understanding that doing devs aren’t supposed to accept bug reports that utilize datamine values.
If this is the actual text, I would understand from it that it’s the missile that gets a deltaV of 1000m/s personally
They do. If you don’t mention they are from datamine.
Isn’t there also a rule about accepting bug reports based on calculations?
If these calculations are based on assumption, extrapilation, etc. Sorta.
So then why did the MICA report get accepted?
The diameter value is based on datamine figures and the rest of it is calculation based on extrapolation and assumptions from different sources?
As I said it’s fine til you mention you get that number from datamine. Half of significant reports would be impossible without datamine data.
Maybe but not really, these were not so random calculation but based on objective things. Especially for quite new weapons it’s fine.
It seems pretty inconsistent to me when compared to other reports that have been rejected in the past. I would be willing to bet if I did a MiG-29 report based on the games CL/CD values and it’s turn rate charts that it would be rejected even if I didn’t mention getting those values are datamine.
Because it is a bug?
Not particularly no… it’s the final piece in the puzzle, it seems my deltaV is too low, because I assumed the 750m/s velocity referred to deltaV and not outright velocity. But this all still works, the deltaV is 1000m/s. Which would be a slight nerf, and if direct support says he gets about 833m/s currently, then the deltaV nerf should bring the V-launch velocity down to about 750m/s. Which fulfils both sources.
I don’t understand this part. The excerpt shared by @DirectSupport says that the missile itself should have a 1000m/s increase, not that the motor has a 1000m/s deltaV capacity
There is disagreement on the meaning of the sentence, for an engineering study i would expect velocity increment to mean deltaV as typical.
thanks i got confused with the mistral family.
Well they are correct on the fact that deltaV isn’t mentioned so we can’t be sure, it might account for drag…
Well… Velocity increment = DeltaV to me.
Well yea but not the deltaV you defined earlier
The other problem is the deltaV required would be like 1300m/s, that fuel mass is impossible…
