The picture of some rare vehicles in China or Republic of China and Taiwan

Nice analysis, I have to wonder if it really is the Type 64 though. The gun doesn’t appear to have a muzzle brake, something that I believe was present even on the first Type 64 prototype. But I suppose this video is too grainy to achieve any real conclusion.

PLZ10, unknown wheeled 25mm or 30mm SPAAG, and PLZ10 turret? Not sure

CA-10 (ZiS-150) with a 57mm Type 59 (S-60) on the bed. My guess is that this is just a “restoration” from leftover stocks and not functional as an actual firing platform.

ZBD86 (WZ501)-based command vehicles, possibly WZ506? Other vehicles in the family include the WZ505 (“Type 86-I”) with 25mm autocannon, WZ504 ATGM carrier, WZ503 APC, and (allegedly) WZ502 mortar carrier, but the number was reused from the ZBD04.

Very long post!

Unknown MBT prototype. It resembles the 1223, but it also has some equipment seen only on the Type 80 and later (smoke grenade rack, rear turret basket).

Prototype of Type 85-IIAP. Notice the older machine gun (Type 54 instead of QJC88) and lack of composite armor on the hull.

Spoiler

Uncertain Type 85 variant, possibly Type 85-III. It has the elevated engine deck and new FCS seen on the Type 85-III, so maybe its that without ERA.

Type 96 with FCS from MBT-2000. It is not the MBT-2000 turret, you can see the bolts on the top of the turret are still original.

Unknown truck with machine gun. In the past i thought this was CA-10/ZiS-150 with Type 54/DShK, but it looks too big. The footage is supposedly of Chinese troops on a train heading to Korea, so 1950s.

Looks like just AA guns with trucks in the background.

Though I think I came across something about a type 88 gun truck but I can’t for the life of me find it again in the document.

Well you posted this vehicle on the old forum

This was the source you referred to:

Oh that pic came from: “Kangzhan: Guide to Chinese ground forces 1937-45” the M3 half track pic came from the other book.

But for the type 88 gun, looks like I remembered wrong. Only reference I can find for it is all fixed and not self propelled.

The turret ring which would make Abrams cry

it’s the test platform for light vehicle turrets. the new 8x8 assult vehicle’s turret is also tested on this hull.

Recoil might rip that turret ring

won’t, it’s a specially made test platform, this is his job, the big ring is used to fit different turret rings.

was any other turret tested on this vehicle?

the new 8x8 105mm assult vehicle, unofficially called ZLT-19, and there are another ZTS-63 hull test platform.

Does anyone have any pictures, or proof, that China used CA-10/CA-30 trucks to mount various gun platforms for Anti-Air? It seems odd that millions of these trucks were built and there isn’t a single picture of one mounting a 12.7mm or 14.5mm in any sort of mount.
