The Paveway IV release speed nerf is ahistorical and should be reverted

The change to Paveway was due to the report submitted and reviewed. If you believe the same is true of other bombs, please report them.

annoying, it seems there already is a report, and they had data on it being able to be dropped above mach 1, but did not have enough information to know exactly what mach number. so they put it at mach 1.1, severely limiting its use on the f-15, for example, which is a very fast plane.

considering that the decision for the paveway IV was to completely remove the mach limit until more information can be found, can the same be done to the GBU-53 and 39?

The mach limit was removed on Paveway due to the sources specifying ratings for the aircrafts entire flight envelope. So im afraid its not the same here.

the best part is that before GBU-53 was added GBU-39 didnt have a drop speed limit (it was removed due to sources for supersonic release)

but when they added GBU-53 they limited both to 1.1 and wont move it because “1.1 is supersonic”

yeah, I remember that. not sure why they choose to limit the capabilities when exact information is not found, especially when what is known suggests it should be better. like the agm-88G for example…
