It still auto unfloods.

Here are some quotes straight from Ganjin.

Soo allllllll that said, it is now unfair optional?
Reward reduction optional?
Antiethical gameplay optional?
Unintended game mechanic optional?

WTF are they saying?

Blockquote
This is no longer possible with the new system. The ability to do this was a consequence of the old system, but not an intended one. This “tactic” was not intentional as the advantage it gave was antithetical to gameplay and the intentions of the mechanic.

Blockquote
Fundamentally, the key issue with deliberately not repairing certain areas of the ship was that it was unfair to the player shooting at it

If a player does everything “right”, besting the defenses of an enemy ship, they should be rewarded for successfully carrying out that action. The unintended ability to lessen the reward for the player landing their shots harms gameplay overall.

We understand that DC may be seen as taking away agency, but this decision is in favour of fairer gameplay across the board, and rewarding the active player in the engagement. You penetrated an enemy ship in a critical spot? Excellent, you’ll be rewarded for that. You got hit by an enemy in a critical spot? Then they deserve the reward for that. This old system let a player reduce the reward gained by another player arbitrarily

It’s not “un-fair” its learning how to manage you ship and where to shoot the enemy ship. What was un-fair was was forcing players to in-efficiently manage their crew so people that refuse to learn the basics can preform as well as those that put in the time and effort to learn them.
Choosing not to repair a ship is no different then taking reduced ammo in a tank or less than max fuel in a plane… or not repairing in a tank until you drive to cover, or finishing you reload before activating fire suppression

Give back the old mechanic this is catastrophe!

If you go to “Options” - “Naval Battle Settings”, then you can turn off the “Advanced damage control system

No, this is all words straight from Ganjin, not me.
So they are saying the game is now unfair and people are playing antieithical using an unintended game mechanic which is optional.

GANJIN SAYS THE MODE IS CURRENTLY UNFAIR.

To me what is unfair is the aiming system they put in months ago.
The constant uptiers.
Any map over 12k for light cruisers/destroyers. TIME WASTE.
The AA shooting form like 12k+.
And a lot of stuff but whatever.

Nothing’s unfair about the old repair system.

Is it annoying when you can’t kill a cleveland at 18% crew in a 5.3 cl because despite penetrations, crew isn’t dying? Kinda, yeah but you can just as easily knock out his turrets to force him to repair or he has to sit there getting pounded until he eventually sinks.

There’s genuine counters to it that people don’t want to exploit because they want to be spoonfed.

I stress again this was from Ganjin in a foot stomping assuring statement that it is unfair.
I know how the players feel but Ganjin was very clear they are antiethicle, unfair, exploiters, etc etc.
Again, they were very stern about this change.
So that all said.
The current fact that it is “optional” means essentially cheating optional according to their own blog statement.

I just find it hilarious how they stand for nothing and always try to ruin the game.
Bring back he old aiming system I am sick of the RANDOM over under straddle under over straddle straddle ASSIST game mode.

The accuracy issue mostly stems from the ai gunners being straight worthless past an arbitrary range with the aim system. 5.7 and below is around 13km. With exceptions.

Like Ikoma being effectively worthless past 9km in terms of accuracy.

The assist thing is annoying and could easily be fixed if they changed how kills are awarded to the player. IE If player 1 knocks an enemy into scuttling range (usually 8% crew left), they’re given the kill instead of player 2 stealing it by 0%ing the crew.

I understand wanting to automate the repair process, I’m not really against it. But can you please release it finished and not bugged…

Out of the game - Fire/Water/Repair
Ingame - Fire/Repair/Water ???

Test sail shows the out of game loadout, only ingame is bugged, I don’t think it’s just a display bug but it might be.

Tested only on Prinz Eugen and Admiral Hipper.

Yea the latest update broke Naval and added so many bugs. Makes you wonder how any of this even got past the testing phase, or whether there was any testing at all. The skeleton crew must really be struggling…

Iam not touching it till the myriad bugs are fixed.

Kinda wish they would just roll it back to Tusk Force…

In addition the reolad of torpedo tubes (arcade) which can fire only at one-side doesn’t work on some vessels (e.g. french cruiser Galissionaire)

The old repair mechanic is bugged. With the new version turned off, repair functions still start on their own despite the automatic start not being turned on.
For example, I only have Automatic start on firefighting, yet while my crew was extinguishing the fire, the repair and unwatering functions kept turning on, and I had to keep turning them off by holding the hotkey for the said function.
This bug ruins the naval experience, causing crew loss and premature destruction. Right before the naval event btw.

whats really bad is that its RANDOM, like its a 50/50 chance

i wonder why)))

i dont think is was implimented to the best of ability, if a part of my ship is being damaged and bombarded, i should tell my crew to not go there until it is safe.
