Hey everyone, I wanted to start a thread focused entirely on the naval vehicles themselves and see how everyone feels about their overall design. I really want to look closely at the ships as physical machines, especially how accurately their structural models, armour plating, and internal modules are put together. It would be great to dive into the technical details of the hulls, engine rooms, and how the main and secondary gun turrets behave when you are out on the water. I am really curious to hear your thoughts on how individual ships handle, how well their historical designs are represented, and what your favourite vessels are to command just based on their actual specifications and capabilities. Basically talk anything about ships. 👍🏻
I’m particularly fond of Japanese heavy cruisers, so I use Haguro and Tone. Among them, my absolute favorite is Maya, the third ship of the Takao-class heavy cruisers, but she hasn’t appeared in this game yet.
Anyway, putting that aside, the ships in this game—especially the Haguro, the fourth ship of the Myōkō-class heavy cruisers—are really easy to use and great ships. With their powerful main guns, torpedoes, and solid defense, I highly recommend that anyone playing as the Navy give them a try at least once!!
I like odd stuff, especially the ones courtesy of the Good Idea Fairy like the above mentioned ‘Large Light Cruisers’, the interwar cruiser submarines (Surcouf and the like), or the Dutch navy designing an escort vessel/gunboat with cruiser levels of armor
I need someone to help me research the “model 1964 type v” proxy fuze for the french 57mm twin mounts for the le brestois for it to be competitive like the köln.
