The MICA EM should have its range fixed due to the addition of AIM-120C-5 in the game on multiple platforms

Give the Mica EM its extra range but that’s because it should have already had it.
The 120c isn’t necessarily better then the 120b in the dev server:

  • When at 5000 feet altitude (at mach 1.2) the 120b is both faster and has more range 5.6 miles more range infact
  • When at 16000 the 120c is still slower but has 4.3 mile more range then the 120b
  • the only notably larger range is at 33000 feet altitude which is 12.6 miles.

Essentially only use 120C at altitudes over 16000 feet while shooting at a target at or above you, otherwise the 120B is just better.

in reality the best loadout would be a 2 120c 6 120b loadout
most people in air RB are climbing then firing 2-4 missiles before diving and pulling away, those first missiles should be 120c, the rest of the time dogfighting should be 120b because at that altititude the 120b has more range and speed then the 120c

All that to say the 120c-5 is situational based on whether you should use it over a 120b

Tbh this wouldn’t be a much problem if Rafale only got MICA fixes instead of FM fixes like the Supercruise speed (which I really infuriated too that Typhoon got denied as meme like “Marketing Lie”). But hey, Gaijin always had a plan.

An eye for an eye would make a world go blind, I don’t understand again doing this the same for Rafale would also get Typhoon problem get fixed, especially the main Bug Reporter I know mostly never had a problem with Typhoon Bug Reporter.

Isn’t the AIM-120C-5 still WIP? iirc, from YouTube Videos, it’s still underperforming compared to AIM-120A/B, I guess we should wait for updated dev server before to conclude any further.

Im basing the info on the data in the dev so if it changes it changes, but yea it underperforms the 120a and b at low altitude but overperforms them at high altitude.

Personally, I like that, which makes the 120c5 not OP, especially since it doesn’t have ridiculous range.
But yea in the end it’s subject to change.

My main issue is everyone claiming it’s a miracle missile or something with double the amraam range! In reality, it barely outperforms 120a/b at high altitudes and underperforms at low altitudes.

Yeah, the Typhoon is underperforming in every single respect, but I dont see any FM fixes anytime soon because of the amount of fake reports that have been submitted over the past few months. Sorting the real from the fake is going to delay them months.

And then Gaijin cherry picking what data they “beleive” to be true is just annoying.

MICA can be launched from any angle on the dev server : Warthunder

Find it interesting that this is not being talked about here.

That is the second major buff I was just talking about. They got a major off-boresight capability that makes the Rafale the king of WVR combat at the moment. Nothing can compete once within range of the MICA

Thats crazy, 180 degree off bore hits

can i change my opinion after seeing that, mica don’t need more range, its fine right where it is…

They did and they made it worse, so now they have just completely forgotten about Typhoon.

Gaijin wanted ti make sure Rafale was superior to Typhoon they added a more modern version of Rafale with the best Radar it could have, the best power plants it could have. They have it more missiles the more advanced HMD system.

Superior CAS payloads.

Gaijin could have made an attempt to level it up.
But have actively made a choice not to

What gaijin need to do is to improve the MICA range by fixing thurst vectoring (which would also fix r77) and MASSIVELY reduce the off bore shooting capability of the MICA because this

is the worst joke i ever saw in a long time.
Oh and btw, they need to fix the Rafale engine : it cannot go mach 2 (stated by Dassault) and it cannot supercruise (i have to dig aroud for that one but i think it was also stated by Dassault and i think it can find testemony of a Rafale pilote conferming that the Rafale does not have this ability) and this can be done whithout running into the game engine limits because once upon a time the Rafale had its correct top speed and wasn’t able to supercruise but for some reason gaijin thought it was a good idea buff that part of the Rafale FM ( i swear to god if they continue to make stuff up i am really goining to eat a bunch of snail just to feeel better)

Yes they should have added a F2 variant instead of a mid/late F3 variant

r-77-1 also got this buff, it’s not just mica.

How is it not able to go mach 2 if the rafale a was able to go mach 2, that makes 0 sense.

Exactly we basically have a Rafale F.4
When we could have had a Rafale with a PESA Radar

Well idk but Dassault official website state that it is MACH 1.8

RAM coating limitations is why Dassault limit it 1.8

Well, it doesn’t get that coating in game. Also, where did you get that info from.

It has the coating in game it just doesnt offer the RCS reductions.

The mass is the exact same in game as it is in the real world
