Guys, real-world vehicles aren’t balanced. There are huge gaps in technology and capability. Gaijin should aim to recreate how each vehicle actually performs and handles.
Balance should come through BR adjustments and other mechanics—perhaps extra respawns, or a fixed budget that lets you field more cheaper tanks.
Would you really want a T-34 to be as capable as a Tiger just for balance? That would feel unrealistic.
I don’t see much point in arguing that every vehicle should be equally strong. Let BRs and matchmaking handle balance, hopefully with more mechanics in the future. I’m here to enjoy tanks that perform and handle as close to their real counterparts as possible.
If you think a vehicle is really strong, just play it too. You’ll get the same advantage.
Take the BMPT, for example. People thought it was too strong and called for nerfs. I don’t think that’s necessary—it would undermine what makes this game stand out. If everyone plays the BMPT, wouldn’t that be fair and balanced?
It’s like seeing someone eating a burger—you can buy the same burger too. Pretty easy to understand, right?
To a general, the T-34 is far better than the Tiger because it’s cheaper and can be mass-produced. To a tank commander, though, the Tiger is the better tank because it gives the crew a better chance of surviving.
Guys, in War Thunder, we’re tank commanders, not generals.
Probably, but the T-14 is still undergoing testing and development and hasn’t entered mass production—kind of like the Leopard 2 PSO. The Leopard 2A8 is already in series production.
Even if you remove the extra plates then it looks like 2A4 still the turret cheek is immune to m829a2/3bm60 because I’ve get shot when looking like this and they simply cannot pen it regardless of the plates is still there or not
I don’t even know if the extra plates (the portruding part) actually does anything different since the current one 2a5-2a7 already have enough protection to stop DM53/152mm apfsds, they are already not going through it no matter what unless you get shot from some odd angles.
There is a lot more nuance than blind nationalism. Every country that makes tanks makes them for their own needs, terrain, and doctrine. Thus German leopards are good in many areas, but are surpassed by other designs in different areas.
And the Chinese Type 100 is looking pretty sweet, and they have the capacity to build a fair amount of them (unlike T-14)
Sure, every tank has its strengths and weaknesses. I just think the Leopard is a strong all-rounder. That’s a preference based on the tank, not the flag.
Its not just that. They always added worse counterparts when alternatives existed. T90a had to face 2A5/6 when the bvm existed. And the later sep abrams took far too long to come. All T tanks, challengers merkavas and a few others shouldn’t be the same br as the top leopards
