But unfortunately, like many other Italian fighters, the G55 sotto 0 does not have usable flaps, The combat and takeoff flaps simply do not function properly, due to automatic retraction system and speed limit, which is unfortunately set for all flaps the same as the rip speed of the landing flaps, you can use them only bellow rip speed of landing flaps, respectively all flaps will only extend below this speed.
I feel this is a non-issue with G.55 Sotto 0. Without flaps, it still has an excellent sustained and instantenous turn performance (at least with Full Real Controls. I haven’t used it in RB). In situations I feel using flaps is justified - parallel to german aircraft given the comparison to 109s - I’m far below the rip speed of the landing flaps already. These situations are maintaining stability in low-speed conditions (e.g.: stall-climbing for a shot) and to assist with “God’s G”-powered turns (turns on top of the “Tactical Egg”).
(in fact, messing around in test flight makes me feel the auto-retraction probably helped me a lot compared to the 109. In the 109 I will rip my flaps off a lot of times doing Out-of-Plane manoeuvres while in the G.55 it can’t happen).
You must be mad man, the Italian tech tree… boring?!
Have you seen the paint schemes?? The Italians in my opinion have some of the most loveable aircraft in the game. They’re a bit like the Germans if you injected them with a sense of humour.
We even have an angry midget Spitfire with an upside down engine (Re.2001) and then later we made a big one! (Re.2005).
The C.202 is basically a 109 with better aerodynamics and yes whilst the Breda’s in reality were not a particularly amazing .50cal this is War Thunder so they’re absurdly overpowered.
Don’t forget the G.55’s, we have an aircraft with some generally good flying characteristics so we decided to give it a truly awful cockpit, why? Because we’re Italian.
Also the C.205N2 is what the 190A wishes it was and I don’t care what anyone says.
