ah yes lets make the grind even worse for no reason at all
just to get a worse version of the plane at a higher br
Better than having no reason to grind japan’s lines when rafale and gripen e come later.
why would having a worse version of an already existing plane make anyone grind japan
lowkey the JP line needs it. If we ever want to see domestic JP missiles like the AAM-5, there just is going to be like a 12.7 to 14.3 jump eventually.
There honestly is no avoiding the current top JP options going up if we want to see more advanced JP missiles. All we can do is make the transition between what we have and what will be smoother.
Could the solution be adding Early and Late iterations of the F-15/F-2 possibly (or would that even be possible?)? I wouldn’t mind a later F-2 later down the line with the AAM-4B/AAM-5 as the top F-2, but I’m guessing there weren’t many (or any) upgrades to dictate a separate F-2 airframe huh?
As for the F-15, I’m not too well versed in the Japanese ones. Have there been upgraded ones beyond the ones represented ingame that could be added after them, that could potentially be given later missile options similar to what I’m hoping for with the F-2?
Its not worse, its just being in a bad spot br wise. And I don’t think it will be worse. Japan will just have AESA fox3 and next gen IR missiles at a lower br than other nations just like how f2 is 13.7 with AESA radar. Just a suggestion idk if this will work out. But having the current f15jm jump to f35 is crazy
So like, a IRL F-15J J-MSIP (what i think would be the best to fill a gap between the current J and J(M), would be very comparable to the current specs of the J(M), it would basically just be it, but with no HMD, no AAM-4s, no MAWS (if the J(M) ever gets its maws), and the PSP radar instead of the V(1).
It would be a downgrade yes, but honestly its good enough to give the current J(M) room to move up, and with a bit of decompression it could end up in a fine place of its own one day.
So the issue is, gaijin jumped straight to the latest versions for both the J(M) and the F-2.
Ah, classic gaijin…
Then I’m all for moving them up with their best possible kits and filling the gaps with new additions 👍
We’re probably gonna get AAM4B alongside AAM5 when 5th gen and next gen IR missiles like IRIST get added. Copy paste both F15JM and F2 to like 14.3 or 14.7. Knowing how lazy Gaijin is
I don’t know why would the focus be on the plane being specifically Japanese. As long as they are in the Japanese tech tree, I won’t care about their true nationality.
And apart from the F-35, Japan could get JAS39E/F (Thailand), F-15EX (Maybe Thailand), KF-21 (Indonesia and maybe Malaysia), Rafale F4 (Indonesia), Kaan (Indonesia).
Quite a diverse set of airplanes, specially 5th generation ones. Japan’s state in the future is one of the best in game.
I mean people kinda tend to play japan for japan, atleast imo.
Honestly, it’s Japanese government’s fault. Just like the German government that didn’t put much focus on its air force (German Typhoon’s radar angles being less than Italian and British ones, canceling the F/A-18E/F order, etc) and we can’t do much about it but the addition of other nations to the tech tree is nice.
Okay but it’s not? Japan has better equipment it can get, its just not getting it in game? How is it japan’s government’s fault they didn’t build a plane around its performance when incompletely represented in a videogame?
Everyone has equipment they can get. Meteor, AIM-174B, R-37M, PL-15, IRIS-T, AIM-9X, R-74, PL-10.
By their fault, I mean that they skipped one stage and jumped to the next and the stage we are currently in, in the game, is left empty for that nation.
Uhhhh, throwing the Germans under the bus while fun is a bit irrelevant here.
The British wanted an all-in-one radar, the Germans specifically focused on air to air. We can argue about whether or not they were frugal/cheap about it later, but it’s important to know this now
While the differences aren’t apparent now, at the very least gaijin could in theory go the direction of eventually giving the AESA typhoon Germany has better ECCM capability over the British one (as a compromise, anyway).
Functionally speaking a ~10° difference doesn’t really do much especially when you can’t launch the missiles you have beyond 70° and you’re still able to guide the missiles while notching, so…
I was just giving another example of a government that didn’t put much focus on its military.
German government has consistently gone for the cheaper option. They have opted for a gunless Eurocopter Tiger (which they are now replacing with H145M purely for cost reasons even though H145M is worse than Tiger and wasn’t even supposed to be an attack helicopter at first), they canceled the super hornet order, they chose to modernize the F-4F to mount fox3 instead of the MiG-29G which they had modernized once and decided to randomly give them away for 1 euro per plane. And I could go on mentioning all the shortcomings of German government, some of which so weird that could potentially even be considered espionage and treason for sabotaging the nation’s security and defense.
