Useless yes. But still annoying- the most boring prolonged games always have a f104 bebind them
Yes, when both sides know what they’re doing, it can end in a stalemate. One side knows how to attack and the other knows how to avoid it. The F‑104 is good for strafing airfields, though, so I guess many inflated kill counts came from that.
actually : my inflated killcount in F-86F40 JASDF comes from strafing F-104’s and Su-7’s on their airfields
like maybe 10-15% of all my kills in F-86F40 JASDF comes from such shortcomming events
because an F-86F40 don’t have Afterburners : so it doesn’t use much fuel like the F-104’s in Afterburners all the time.
I didn’t mean you, but I do believe that many of your kills come from AF strafing and blocking. It’s quite a trend now, as AF AA is so inept. As I said here before: becoming outnumbered is not good, it means one cannot land, regardless of the reserve fuel. AF will be blocked. But it is quite common for the game to be essentially decided within three minutes.
that’s changing with ITO90 now in game
not with F-104 (doesn’t turn enough for me to be useful/efficient in such attacks)
Still same at moment, Airfields are virtually defenseless.
you either have an airfield which is overpowered or underpowered, and I rather have an underpowered one since the game is focused on plane vs plane instead of player vs computer aim
AF AA is hardly something that can be described “player versus computer”. It is meant to give players a chance to refuel, reload, or simply retreat when the game is hopeless; a relatively safe haven, but it is currently broken.
that’s 2.455 KD (in your T-2 Early) vs my 3.985KD on F-86F40 JASDF (i maxed out 3 Air slots already)
yep and your “safe haven” is also abused to get an adavantage in battle and the missiles are automatically guided so I think its not that far to say you are fighting the computer.
in the meantime, you’re looking at your own PoV of players awaiting ennemy (you) to go away before landing (because some knows too well that AA are not a 100% defence)
it happenned to me,… no gun or AAM,… wanting to land, but harassed by ennemy that were slurring hard in the chat game, (1 even ended up running out of fuel, and said to have reported me,…)
many people thinks that Airfield AA is abused, but still enter the area instead of going for secondary objectives or reloading themselves - and ends up dieing then rage over their clueless decisions
its either that or you lose your possition in a worse plane against someone abusing the aa both cases are ehhh bad
skill issue really ^^"
at that point, you gave up the chase, and the ennemy become over confident - so you can reverse him as easy as normal once you dragged him far away enough from his airfield.
maybe just accept that some planes can turn better and are faster so you wont run everywhere(also accept the fact that there are missiles and not every plane has flares/ rockets unlocked so idk and try reversing a mig21 in a q5 for example
i’m dodging AIM-9G with an F-86F40,
and AIM-9L with Mirage 5F/3C,
so really, i don’t see any problem :D
would love to see you actually do this
when you a 100kmh slower than the r60 slinger and the airfield hinders you to stall him out so he cant get his needed prelead to hit with the r60 there is no chance(I think we are getting off topic)
