The coupon would be even more useless to a console player because Gaijin doesn’t give us Market.
I cannot express with words how much I hate that this is a thing. Every time I have ever gotten a vehicle reward from these crates (like 4 times total) I get SL instead of a coupon.
I feel like Gaijin is giving me a break and giving me something good only to get fly-kicked in the nuts seeing that it’s not a coupon.
ive got the I-180S like 7 times before. Granted, not as bad as recieving a duplicate of iranian tomcat, but the sheer volume of duplicates in this case speaks for itself.
if i recieve it again, this time as my second coupon for this SL lootbox run after getting a ship as first, im going to scream.
My post from above that themalm is replying to.
WELLLL, I would like that, but again as with a few of the other options I posted about duplicates, that would significantly affect the marketplace prices, which Gaijin would not want to do. The coupons already have a vastly lower chance of dropping compared with instant use (probably about 10x less likely, maybe even lower). That is the main reason I left it out of my 4 “possible” options, I just do not see it happening. Not without some drastic lowering the overall % odds for getting any vehicle, which none of us want.
And another reason why coupons are not a desirable alternative:
Those are all reasons why I see only 2 possible options:
-
No duplicates for players with Premium Time, 180-365 Days. I think 365+ days would be more appealing to Gaijin. And for players, it is “only” ~$40 per year, on 50% sale.
-
12m SL back instead of 1m SL. But even if this was restricted to players with 365+ days of Premium Time, this would significantly negatively affect the prices of all the secondary drops from the SL crates on the marketplace. I do not think that Gaijin would even entertain this suggestion, even with a Premium Time requirement.
Thus, imo, there is really only one option that has an even slim chance of happening: No duplicates for players with over 365+ days of Premium Time. Players who actively support the company financially would have far greater chances (NOT odds) of getting vehicles they do not have. And collectors would actually be able to fill out the remaining vehicles they want. The Ka-Chi is a big example of this: there are multiple players who have been trying for years to get it, but with everything being random plus them getting duplicates all the time, the chances of them getting that ONE vehicle they really want is very, very slim. (The Ka-Chi among others is not available on the marketplace, it cannot be obtained at any price/cost, only through random chance.)
I cannot count how many players I have seen get angry about how many duplicate drops they get (which gets worse the more vehicles you have/the longer you have been playing/doing events.) I have seen many players state that they simply stopped buying Premium Time and/or spending money on the game because they are so frustrated with the duplicates:
"900 boxes opened, they only had 3 low tier vehicles that I already owned"
"Every time I have ever gotten a vehicle reward from these crates (like 4 times total) I get SL instead of a coupon."
"ive got the I-180S like 7 times before."
"Lmao duplicate kachi, this is gonna make some people mad"
Finally, I think the option of 365+ days Premium Time requirement for no duplicates would bring in more money for Gaijin with effectively no downside. There would be many players buying over a year of premium time purely so that they no longer get duplicates from the SL crates, and thus have a realistic chance of getting the remaining vehicles that they want. Especially those vehicles that do not exist on the marketplace, such as the Ka-Chi.
And, by keeping the same odds for vehicles and coupons, the prices on the marketplace would not be affected. I truly see this as a win+win for everyone. Gaijin makes more money, and players would be much happier with this change. They would play more often and longer, would buy more GE’s etc, and bring further income to Gaijin in addition to the 365+ days of Premium Time they already purchased.
“Thank you for coming to my TED Talk” 😂
Hey Silent, do you actually track the SL box results? Have the feeling youre very into it.
If you want i can send you my results (with screenshots if you want) as i currently track all of them.
In the next days i will have opened the 1000th watermelon and will likely end a pit above 1000th.
Not sure why people are telling they needed to spend 100.000.000 SL to get one Prem… i got a few already and i am currently at the 127 Opening of 5 Melons each, so 635th Melon.
I do not closely track mine lol. I make a mental note of how much I had to start with, that’s about it.
Yeah it’s definitely not 100m SL’s for 1. The previous surveys show it to be somewhere between 1:200 and 1:250 crates. Or 0.5% - 0.4% odds for a vehicle to drop per crate. (That is 0.005 and 0.004 in decimal, respectively, fwiw.) So, between 12m SL’s and 15m SL’s per vehicle on average. Individual results can and do vary.
@war_Tinder has run multiple surveys in the past if you would like to check out her past threads.
EDIT: @Bruce_R1 has also run past surveys.
Here is @war_Tinder 's most recent thread, her spreadsheet has multiple events in separate sheets though, just open up the sheet linked on this thread: Community project: Calculating the Snake Box drop changes
EDIT:
Her*
Anyway, thanks for the shoutout. @Bruce_R1 has also done some on their own that have come out at 0.004.
Ah ok. Thanks.
It seems his/her/its thread is kinda dead.
So i guess i just do it for myself and post the results at some point here.
But a rough summary of my results: ( i open 5 boxes each and the number gives the amount of times i opened a 5er pack)
Opening out of 150 Melons total so far:
16: 2D Deco
27: 3D Deco Petart ammo
34: 234/4 (Worth 174 GJN)
53: Zrinyi 1 (Worth Not obtainable anymore)
58: 2D Deco
80: Profil picture
86: 3D Deco Jet Ski
110: 3D Deco Petart ammo
116: Buccanner S.1 (Worth 39 GJN)
119: 2D Deco
120: Coupon 3D Deco (Worth 2 GJN)
127: Coupon 2D Deco (Worth 0.4 GJN)
128: Coupon 2D Deco (Worth 1 GJN)
128: Coupon AUBL 74 HVG (Worth around 60 GJN)
132: Coupon BMD-4 (Worth around 87 GJN)
135: F11F-1 (Worth 43 GJN)
The stuff i can sell will make me a nice 150 GJN already, securing me another year of Prem Account and 110 GJN to spend on whatever i want.
Total worth so far (inluding non coupons) a very nice 406 GJN/Dollar/EUR that it would have cost me to get these vehicles. And the Puma is a very welcome addition to my collection :D
I know what u mean but no, for me its purely to continue to not spend any money for the game and still being able to buy premium stuff. Its calculated to give me enough GJN to buy 3-4 Prems on sale + 1 year of Prem time.
This is actually the only reason i keep playing this game, its so pay2win that i would have stopped playing years ago but with a strategy u can be part of the problem without spending any money.
Thats why i keep track of the earnings, and so far it is an no brainer for me to continue buying them.
event | odds per box |
---|---|
vehicle on account | 0.004 |
vehicle coupon (any) | 0.0004 |
IS-7 on account | 0.00001 |
IS-7 coupon | 0.000001 |
So low? For me it feels like the odds are way better then 0.004 and 0.0004 for a coupon.
Havent tracked the last times i bought the boxes, only this time, but it was everytime around 20-50 millions and i usually got 2-3 coupons and 5+ vehicles (often i had them already but thats on me i guess)
0.0004 would be 2500 Boxes for one coupon, so thats very far away from my results.
And up to today i opened 219x5=1095 Melons and i got 5 Acc Vehicles and 2 Vehicle Coupons.
Some people are lucky. Most of the ones who aren’t lucky we don’t hear from.
Anyway, we know the IS-7 odds from the writeup (0.00001 on account), and we know coupons are 1/10 of vehicles. And we know that the odds for an IS-7 are significantly lower than any of the other 43 vehicles on offer so they can’t be reasonably better than 1/10 of the vehicle odds on any of the others.
This is consistent with market sales which are about 10x the number of other vehicles as IS-7s (18 so far this event, compared to around 200 F-14s last I looked).
So If IS-7 odds are 0.00001 on account (and coupon is 0.000001, literally a million-to-one shot), that means odds of other vehicles on account are ~0.0001, which times 43 vehicles that means “vehicle on account” can’t be far off 0.004, which is consistent with reports collected by players.
Sorry, you’ve just been lucky. Most people don’t get anything close to what you have gotten in terms of rate of return, and if actual odds aren’t given, there’s a “false hope” aspect to people here raving about the cool stuff they got. A gambling counsellor would tell you to quit while you’re ahead.
EDIT: Also important to note if you’ve done this a while that before Feb/24 the odds for a vehicle coupon were about the same as now but the odds of a vehicle on account were about half what they are now (so five vehicles on account per coupon was what you should expect before that, except for the event in Dec/22 which had no coupons at all). So people who look at their “lifetime” performance can see the proportion and doubt the current 1:10. I for instance have “lifetime” two coupons and eight vehicles out of SL boxes, but both of those coupons came before they changed the odds.
But thats what i got so far out of every event roughly. So yea maybe i am just lucky.
but my odds for this event are very very different.
for me the odds where:
Acc Vehicle: 0,0045 wich is aligning
but
Coupon: 0,0018 which is far far away from 0,0004
Well good for you :) As I mentioned earlier I opened 1760 boxes during multiple events and just today I got finally my first prem. vehicle for 105,6mils of SLs :) Maybe I will get lucky and get a coupon in said 2500 boxes :)
So yeah 740 boxes to go then :D
so, opened 600th box, still sitting at exactly one vehicle.
lets go for 700!
Holy
I mean, eventually I need to hit second vehicle, right?
“Sir, its your 8th copy of I-180S”
