90° FoV is not possible fair. I mean it makes sense because the beam would literally emit sideways out of the array. Its not possible in a sense without having massive drawbacks fair enough I was wrong you are right. Still my statement stands. The Mk1 has +/- 90° FoV aka probably +/- 180° FoR aka +/- means an additional 20°.
We don’t know that for sure tho. Could very well be that they use FoV and FoR interchangeably. I’ve sent them an Email to ask, wether they’ll actually answer is another question
I know there reply, IF they even send one…
We cannot answer such questions to private persons
The wording is perfect for me, we got the +/-, the videos about the Mk we’ve seen are pretty clear to me, nothing indicates or suggest a change between the Mk0/Mk2 and the Mk1in terms of FoR. I mean surely the Mk2 has some drawbacks adding all these fancy high powered, hard to cool, EW/EA additions to the Captor-E. I wonder if the Mk2 has actually less FoR because of exactly that.
+/- means it is 90 in 2 separate sides, either up/down, or right/left
Hope this plane ilustrates it.

In this case +/-90 does not mean around that value, but +90/-90
A few examples
Did you ask if the FoR was +/- 100 or what the difference between the terms FoV & FoR is?
I guess your right. +/- 90° probably means nothing else but ±90°. Well learn something new every day I guess. Still I still doubt it lost the feature to track targets with downsides slightly beyond 90° boresight. I just can’t fathom why they limited the Mk1.
20 years? The mk1 still isn’t in service for Germany, its at the exact same point of implementation as Mk.2, do you people do any research?
No,
Physically this isn’t possible, at 90° constructive and destructive interference would both occur, causing an awful amount of noise and no meaningful transmission.
I assume you mean Field of Regard (FoR), as previously discussed
Eh, serial production started in June. The first Eurofighters with Mk.1 from the factory come early next year. We have confirmation that the Luftwaffe has multiple Aircraft (can only be EFTs) equipped with E-Scan since 2023. It’s very possible we already have a couple non-IPAs with Mk.1 Step 0/1 or Mk.0 (there was a plan to equip EFTs with Mk.0 from 2023 to get AESAs into service early, but no confirmation if that ever happened).
Now let’s not be silly
Sure, but their not at the same stage of implementation. Mk.1 is in serial production and it’s official entry into service can be measured in months, maybe even weeks. Mk.2 hasn’t even entered final testing stage yet
So saying that is just disingenuous
Why? The next four weeks include two of 2026 already, so it’s possible. There’s a reason I said “maybe”.
Edit: Did you seriously edit your comment completely instead of replying normally? lol
Mind you, Hensoldt always said Mk.1 has 180° FoV, not FoR. What’s the difference you may ask? No idea
Again considering how serious realism is taken in the game AMK’s effectiveness depends on how gaijin models it. Could just be a couple more Gs which doesnt make it much stronger and at least makes the german euro unique in a good way instead of a blank nerf. And 10 degrees here does make a big diff since it’s past perpendicular, the UK and ITA euros can hold a lock while notching while the german one can’t
Hmmmm I dunno, man, if you see images of the 3 mk´s the one on this image is the Mk1.
I really want to know why my post got removed and who flagged it for what lol
Again, I’m going off of values stated in the opening post.
