Ye if their double standard of being selective doesnt kick in it would be a bad addition I agree. But if it was just for the SLAM-ER it would be nice and not be just slightly upgraded maverick.

Well, at least the Kh-29TE seems to work well against ships (at least from my experience)

That wasn’t really meant as a comparison, but yes, it is exactly for that reason currently
Gaijins implementation of cruise missiles is just as bad as their initial implementation of proper AShMs (they still aren’t great, as they target random components of the ships, but that’s better than what they used to do)

Yeah, they don’t target properly either, but they have enough oomph to kill ships reliably
the problem is, for the red team in sim, is the fact that every munition that is suppose to help destroy the carrier cant do it.
i have played sim and sadly i only own red side tree ( ger, rus, china ) and my first mission is always the carrier because of the f14 aim54 and f18c early spam. ( didnt even wanna top tier in sim because of the new rafale is more cancer now due to having a closer spawn ).
the only one that can be good is the fab1500 tv, and is already hard to get close to it

Yeah, I get ya, it’s a shame that redfor doesn’t have good AShMs in-game currently because of the way non-radar ones target the ships
Would have been nice to see the MiG-29M get the Kh-31 or Kh-35
