The sm2 has the irbis-e radar not a modified bars, the whole upgrade was to limit differences in components and make it easier and cheaper to produce parts/repairs and upgrades for both the sm2 and the 35s. It is cheaper to make one set of advanced systems than two different sets and on top of that it makes it easier to train on mechanically and physically if both aircraft have the same engines, radar, etc. especially since they are still modernizing the su30’s and not just phasing them out for the 35s

Also I do agree that the eurofighters will have the best esa radar as it’s an aesa on a hydraulic plate that can increase the angle of the search zone vs the irbis is still a hybrid pesa setup, the only advantage I see the irbis having is 120 degrees vs the 100 of the captor-e mk2
Rather strange choice for a premium considering MB-326B is the first and most lightly armed variant suggested for export. Would be more logical to see MB-326E or G as a premium with possibility to use 30 mm gunpods, like on MB-326K.
It should have such options:

From what I’ve read with a quick search, I’ll do a more in depth search when I get home, I have found that all su-30sm2’s with the al-41f1 engines received the irbis radar as the engines can accommodate the 20kw power needed for the irbis. Also claims from Belarus, who have also received a few sm2’s with the 41f1’s claim it to have the irbis and that it’s a huge improvement over their 30sm fleet. But like I said I’ll dig deeper when I get home as I’ll have more time and better resources to look at

Spoken statements don’t mean much as I’ve seen some sources claim the bars has the range up to 250km which would be 500km if it was doubled as per your statement, again I’ll dig deeper when I get home and I’ll find good sources to post, I’m not claiming to be right as I can’t dig deep into this right now

which are wrong the offical range number is 150km
here are some OLDER brochures for bars btw, and as you can see, it’s clearly been upgraded several times. this one is from 2005, and has less simultaneous attacked/tracked targets and range compared to the image ron sent.
So its CLEAR Bars radar can and will be upgraded over time
I didn’t call him a random spokesperson, I said spoken statements, I’m not denying that he is one of the engineers but if you have written documentation of it being less than doubled from a declassified document or brochure I wouldn’t mind seeing it. I find the source you posted with the bars specs a good source I just wish it included what used said systems as that would clear up a lot. I’ll look through some similar sources soon but there isn’t really much out there as it’s all still classified.
Ps. I only want the better radar and engines as to not have another f-15GE or typhoon(Aesa) situation where it’s basically just copy paste with nothing really new, or have it be another soyuz instance with made up improvements

but all the evidence points towards the Su-30SM2 not having the IRBIS but a further upgraded BARS
Funny enough the irbis is technically an upgraded n011m, it was developed from the bars so in a way it could be considered an upgrade as it’s dimensions haven’t changed much other than the azimuth the array can be directed and it is also lighter too but not by much
its like saying the F-2 is just an upgraded F-16
almost 200kg of weight difference is quite substential
also an increase of 30° in the electronical scanned portion of the radar is also quite a difference,
while having double hte average power output and almost 5 times the peak output
Don’t worry, it will get the Irbis. Some dedicated user will find proper sources. Or Gaijin will just decide to do it anyway :)
