if u play P-51, u must BnZ, i recommend u to side climb so u can get enough altitude when the Yak is near to dive over it.
with Bf 109…all i know is that they’re very good dogfighters paired with nice armament, so try to energy-fight them. at least when i use the K-4, a good technique is taking them to vertical maneuvers.
yak-3s just arent really a fair fight in either plane you mention id just play keep away

only thing you can do is drag it high or make it overspeed and neither can happen if the pilot is good

Exactly. Not to mention the yak3 will outclimb them at the start. If there is a last dude saying at ridiculously high altitude in the late game, it’s just asking for ticket bleed and lose either way.
This also applies at 5.7 with the yak-3u against other 5.7-6.0 props, not to mention when downtiered lol

The P-51D is not maneuverable. It’s only good as a ground attacker.

I was talking about the yak3u. The yak-3 is very good against the competition but the yak3u is even better compared to other higher tier props than the yak-3 is at its BR, relatively speaking

both are or at least the normal yak3 was and the yak3u still is pretty nasty enenies to face tbh

The “MER” is the thing the yak3 uses to abuse you, not the other way around… There is no real counter unless the yak-3 pilot has no clue about lag pursuit

ik and i never said that you should win a 1v1 against a yak3
all im saying is that when you need to fight it your best bet is trying to reverse it in something like a swallow dive

at least its at 4.7 and pretty early in the tech tree so most players that play it are pretty new and might still have a skill issue
and other than the 3u the yak3 actually can punish you if you do something rlly stupid
At 4.7 I guess its fine for now, it might not be fair to keep pushing it up because of the limited armament, the only downside…
The opposite situation is most of the Italian props, very good armament with very subpar FMs. I always prefer the good FM with limited armament because there’s no point in having lots of guns and ammo if you can’t position yourself to use them effectively in the first place

the armament is pretty nice if you can aim it
ofc if you miss its going to punish you harder cuz you got less ammo
I have done a bunch of aces with the yak15 with 60 rounds… I’m just saying that you need to be more frugal with your shooting, which is always a disadvantage.
