The battle pass is temporarily unavailable

Who wants to “harm innocents” for god’s sake? You think a simple request of rollback is “harmful?”
If you mean the small 1% outlier that show the older examples requesting people to get banned or something is the case, my bad. But you could directly reply to that comment instead of having a general comment on the post which can be misunderstood.

i wonder how many people were affected? surely its not going to be literal thousands… right?

At this point I’m pretty sure Gaijin will just downplay the numbers to cover-up for their botched operation, but the easiest way to understand will be the number of WZ-141 players and coupons on the Marketplace.

Yes, I did mean those that wanted to ban the people outright first and foremost.
I’ve made a 3rd edit to my original post to illustrate that better.

However, a rollback could be 1 - 3 unlocked vehicles per day they had the bug on their account.
That’s assuming they could put aside dev time to find all the accounts and do that within a fast enough time frame.

That’s not fair to their time.

But theoretically, unfortunately yes as far as I know, there was a bug for those who were online at 5 PM on Friday. Several of my clanmates got it for free that way.
But I also heard about someone who was online at that time and didn’t get it, so who knows…

It’s not that I’m overly pessimistic. Rather, I believe that if Gaijin Company shows absolutely no response or action over the next few working days, I have every reason to think that those of us who have expended effort to complete the battle passes are now being abandoned by Gaijin Company.

Since it’s so troublesome to roll back these data, why not offer compensation to the players instead? One can’t just allow people to suffer losses for no reason, can one?

I’d say the easiest way would be to gather the number of BP levels people have unlocked since the day of the error and just rollback those who have gained like 50 levels in a single day maybe. This, like all other solutions, must be applied ASAP to minimize losses. But yeah, literal hundred million dollar company doesn’t have a few lads working at the weekend.

I respect the rest time of the employees of Gaijin Company. At the same time, I also hope that they will take active actions during the upcoming working days to solve this problem.

Rest time doesn’t have to be the same for all employees, you still have paramedics and policemen ready to serve in the weekend. They just have their weekly holidays in weekdays, it’s not a big deal and not slavery.

In the end, we still hope that they will take prompt and positive actions to give us, the players, an explanation and compensation.

The developers responded that there would be no compensation.

On Friday, September 12, some players were awarded additional Combat Pass levels. This charge was due to a technical failure, and not due to the deliberate use of game vulnerabilities by players (an exploit).

This means that players who received Battle Pass levels did not take any active actions for this, and in some cases, level rewards were awarded automatically.

In order not to roll back the diverse progress (for example, part of the achievements, research progress, balance and purchases, coupons, etc.) of all players, we decided not to roll back progress and rewards.

No “compensation” is planned either.
We are already working to eliminate the causes of the error.

There is no evidence that accounts can be rolled back on BP alone.
Account rollbacks are currently known to be all or nothing.

You have to remember, all parties are innocent. The bug was a server bug that applied allegedly on login. People didn’t know about the bug unless they experienced it first hand, and they didn’t know how to recreate the bug until long after Gaijin shut down the battle pass and fixed the bug.
So obviously exploitation is a <0.1% chance even if someone was lucky enough to know a friend that both experienced the bug and had the foresight to tell his friend to log on that moment in an investigatory way.

So yeah, all parties are innocent and now they have to balance wasting days of grinding for potentially thousands of players, or cause a potential uptick in supply.

Also @pooqich I’ve edited a previous post to make my thoughts and my own concerns and speculations more clear.
None of this is disagreement, just sharing my own perspectives and curiosities.

FINAL THOUGHTS for this post:
There is a lot of speculation here, a lot of unknowns. Unknowns are scary.
If it means you have to wait 4 more months before coupon costs raise, that sucks.

The coupon won’t be sellable before next sale so there is the opportunity to wait until March April of next year before putting it up to get some GJN prepped for the May sale.
Or you could wait until fall of next year to sell it for 2026’s Anniversary and Winter sales.

On Friday a bug granted extra Battle Pass levels to some players. This was a random bug and not an exploit, players affected by this did nothing wrong and have not broken any rules. Rolling back the levels on these accounts is too complex and would affect other parts of accounts of all players (achievements, currency, research progress etc), so we won’t be removing the extra levels or rewards gained from this bug. No extra benefits will be given to accounts that did not experience the bug, and a fix for the underlying issue is in progress.

There is nothing more to discuss here. Once again sorry for inconvenience!
