The Aussie Mirage (Mirage IIIO(A)) GAF Mirage.

The lack of super-sonic fighter at or around 10.7-11.0 really is Britains only void that cant be filled natively without a paper aircraft. Mirage III of some description does fill that hole nicely

Yes please. I have already suggested an entire sub tree with Australian aviation but I’ll always up vote the individual vehicle suggestions of course. Would love to see it all.
Doesn’t matter to me if the UK tree needs it I just want to see it. But the M1A1 AIM being in a different tech tree was a mistake. I want to see all Australian vehicles remain in one tree. Like, we can’t even play the M1A1 AIM and F-111C together right now and they’re the same BR.
So unless a whole new tech tree comes out with Australia and other nation/s, this should be in the UK tree no matter what because Australian.

Not to mention ever since the Beaufighter was unceremoniously dropped to rank 2, the F-111C is the only Aussie aircraft we currently have that can do challenges. Unless of course you chuck a RAAF roundel on some of the other planes we used.

The AIM really does not make sense to me why its in another tree, we don’t even have Australian tanks in the UK tech tree while every other Aussie vehicle has a space in the UK tree!! Australia has so many other vehicles that would be great in its own tree or sub line but unfortunately I can’t see that happening in the near future as GB already has a ground subtree :(

An air subtree is much more likely though, as the UK tree doesn’t have an air subtree yet…

only chaff? ,no flares?

As far as I could find it could only carry a countermeasure pod with chaf, but its built off the mirage IIIe which did have internal flares, so theres a chance that it could have flares too in which case it would carry 32 (I think, not at a pc to check)

I didn’t add this to main post due to me not being able to find anything about an internal countermeasure dispenser

If anyone could find anything on the AN/ALE-32 chaff pos that this could carry I would really appeeciate it! I’ve only hit dead ends previously…

Dassault did actually suggest IIIO “Ostralia” As a joke because “iii a” wasn’t available due to it being used for pre production mirage airframes

Yeah, that’s a real thing. I’m not sure why people keep trying to dispute it as meaning something else lol.

The Mirage IIIE in game is fitted with countermeasures, however I’m unsure if this is a later modification to the Mirage IIIE and as such would not be fitted to the IIIO or it was fitted and just not mentioned in the information I have located.

again, any information is much appreciated

It’s looking like a no. A couple websites, including ADF Serials who have compiled mass amounts of research on Australian and New Zealand aircraft, mention that Pakistan had to fit flares and chaff after their purchase of ex-RAAF Mirage IIIO.

makes sense, i think i missed that while looking through the ADF Serials website
thank you

One more suggestion to meet with approval on the basis alone that a Mirage III variant is being suggested.

I would love to see it in game either in the French or British tech tree.

We can only hope, although there’s definitely a higher chance now that the Swiss one is being added!

Interestingly enough, I’ve found a couple of notes in the original sources listing GBU 12 Laser Guided Bombs as armament to be used on the IIIO, which I’ll add to the main post

EDIT: It appears as though I can’t edit the main post anymore as it’s been too long since I posted it

It has no way of targeting them anyway, it requires troops on the ground and such to point the laser.

Ah, I see, I assumed they would mount a pave tack or similar
maybe if/when infantry gets added it could be implemented!

+1 for France
